Redway Lodge is a spacious four-bedroom, four-bathroom property in Porlock, Somerset, sleeping up to 12 guests plus a cot, and is ideally suited to a large family group or several families holidaying together. Originally built as a bungalow, the house has been renovated to include a first floor, making the most of its elevated position and stunning views over Porlock Bay. All four bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, with three enjoying sea views. Two bedrooms are on the ground floor: one with a 4'6 double bed and en-suite bath and separate shower, and another with a king bed plus bunk beds and an en-suite shower room. Upstairs, both bedrooms have king beds plus an additional single or 4' bed, one with a bath and separate shower, the other with a bath. A permanent wooden cot is situated in a small "baby bedroom" off one of the upstairs bedrooms, and two highchairs are also available. Inside, there's a spacious sitting room with comfortable sofas and a smart TV, plus a separate children's playroom with a sofa, TV, DVD player, games, toys and puzzles. The modern kitchen has an electric double oven, gas hob, fridge, microwave and plentiful cookware, with dining space seating up to 8 at the main table and 4 at a smaller table. A utility area off the kitchen houses the washing machine and a fridge-freezer. An oak staircase leads to a large first-floor hallway with seating, and French doors open onto a balcony with fantastic coastal views, furnished with a small table and four chairs. Outside, there's a large lawned garden for guests' sole use, accessed via a gate and steps from the parking area; the garden is sloped and not enclosed. Ample parking is available on the drive for five or more cars, shared with two neighbouring properties. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with wifi, heating and electricity included in the price. A smoke detector is fitted.

The parish church is dedicated to St Dubricius and dates back to the 13th Century. The medieval manorial dower house contains a museum of local history. A short walk away are playing fields and a park in Porlock village. Porlock Hill is notorious for its steepness but it can be by-passed if you use the toll road which boasts beautiful views. Porlock Weir is nearby and is a picturesque hamlet. Once a busy port, it is now a peaceful harbour for yachts and fishing boats. Here is also a good starting point for walks to Porlock Marsh and Culbone - home to England's smallest church. The Coleridge Way, a 36 mile walking route, ends in Porlock. Porlock is also home to the roaster of famous tea and coffee producer DJ Miles, whose coffees are roasted daily in Porlock, their roastery shop can be visited. Other great places to visit include Lynton and Lynmouth - connected by a cliff railway; Watermouth Castle; Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park; Steam railway starting in Minehead; Greencombe Gardens and Marwood Hill Gardens to name a few. Bossington boasts lovely walks and a tea room at Selworthy do a fabulous cream tea.
