Skittles is one of two newly developed apartments in the heart of Box, a popular village only 15 minutes bus or drive from Bath. In a previous life, the building was a skittle alley for The Lamb Inn but that rang time in the 1960s and is now our home. The units are a mix of country and modern, with oak beams and doors and atmospheric lighting. The aim was to create a stylish, light and comfy space with a homely feel, attention to detail and a little touch of luxury. A welcome pack awaits you. The private entrance is up five stone steps and through the right hand oak door. The hallway leads through to the living area with a fully fitted kitchen, sofa-bed, Smart TV and a dining area. A comfy window seat offers a great spot to sit and enjoy views across the valley. Through to the bedroom and a Hypnos Kingsize bed, with 100% cotton white linens awaits. In addition to bedside drawers and hanging pegs, generous storage is under the bed so cases and belongings can be hidden away. There is a wall-mounted smart TV for late-night movies or lazy mornings. Underfloor heating is throughout. The en-suite has a 1100cm wide shower featuring a Victorian style rain and hand held shower.

Box is a bustling village just 5 miles outside Bath. It has a strong feeling of community and offers a local grocery shop that's open until 10pm, the 'Queen's Head' pub, a great Indian restaurant for eat-in or takeaway, delicious homemade cooking at The Birdhouse Cafe, a Methodist Church and Church Of England Church, a pharmacy, post office, hair dressers, butchers - all within easy walking distance of Skittles. It also has a large, recreation ground with a cricket ground, tennis courts, football pitch, river, children's play area, toddler's play area and some stunning countryside for walks. Box woods are lovely to explore. Within a quarter of an hour's walk is The Northey Arms bar and restaurant serving excellent food and The Quarryman's Pub, a charming place with hard to beat views. The occupation of Box dates back to Roman times. It is known for its stone and quarries, Peter Gabriel's Studios and Box Tunnel, built by Brunel which is 1.83 miles long and can be seen from the bridge. The author of Thomas The Tank Engine, Reverend Awdry, lived in the village and felt the steam engines he could hear from his room at night, sounded like they had personalities. The stories begin!
