St. David's House was built as a coffee tavern in the 1880s, for the education of local working men and to steer them clear of the perils of alcohol. It's in the heart of beautiful Cranbrook, an authentic and historic Kentish market town. The Apartment is located close to Union Mill, a working windmill which you can see from the bedroom window. A minute's walk takes you to local pubs, restaurants, cafes, and independent shops. The Apartment is open plan, spacious, and furnished to be your comfortable and relaxing home from home. The kitchen is stocked with everything you'll need with an induction hob and electric oven, a microwave oven and air fryer, dishwasher and fridge, as well as a laundry washing machine and dryer. The lounge area has two sofas (one is also a sofabed) and a leather chair, together with flat screen TV with access to Netflix, Prime, Disney and hundreds of other channels via Amazon Firestick, as well as a log burner. The dining area easily seats four or more for entertaining. The bedoom has views of Union Mill, with a comfortable king size bed. Your private bathroom has a bath as well as a shower with good water pressure. Well-behaved pets are welcome and there are lots of local dog walking routes available from the front door, or take a short drive to Hemsted Forest for longer treks. There's private and secure onsite parking at the rear of the property, or free public parking in The Tanyard opposite. All guests will find milk, eggs, bread and muesli already stocked for their arrival, and included in the rate.
Hello, I'm your host, and thanks for taking a look at my place in Cranbrook. I've stayed in lots of accommodation and have tried to learn from my experiences to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I hope you'll enjoy your stay here in Cranbrook, and please don't hesitate to get in touch if you need any help or advice. Have fun! Jules
The Apartment is the ideal location for exploring Kent's treasures. Sissinghurst Castle & Garden is nearby, as well as many other National Trust and English Heritage properties such as Scotney Castle, Bodiam Castle, and Chartwell, the home of Sir Winston Churchill. Kent is the centre of English winemaking and brewing with famous vineyards such as Chapel Down and Balfour in the area, as well as the oldest brewery in England, Shepherd Neame at Faversham. The medieval city of Canterbury and its ancient Cathedral thrills visitors with an interest in history. Or just take a drive and meander through the lanes and oasthouses to visit Kent's historic and lively market towns and award-winning coastal resorts. No visit to Kent is complete without visiting our unique pubs serving local wines and beers, and traditional pub food. You can easily take a day trip to London by rail to enjoy everything on offer in the world's finest capital city. Travelling by rail takes about 65 minutes, arriving in the heart of the West End at Charing Cross.
