This beautiful unique listed cottage, built in 1666, is located in the Anchorage area of West Mersea. Just a short stroll from local pubs, restaurants, the beach and the sailing club. It is a cosy, quirky and stylish property for two people. Perfect for a romantic gettaway. The private courtyard garden is lovely for dining al fresco on the local seafood. This iconic house is the most photographed on the island. Please note that the stairs are not suitable for people with mobility difficulties . This is my second home so please take special care of it 😊We recently had issues with wifi in the area which has now been resolved 😊

I am someone who likes and indeed must live life to the full. I'm passionate about my home and family and my varied circles of friends . I also love books of all kinds, music,including rock,jazz and opera, travel and all manner of both man-made and natural beauty and wonders. I travel frequently and am fascinated by the way food and culture intertwine and bring us together . Eating and preparing food are also passions and I find that the only way to sustain these hobbies,without endangering my health as I get older, is to run for an hour or so several times a week . That's become my latest passion !! I am a considerate guest and having been privileged enough to have stayed in many marvellous historic buildings and villas that are a actually homes to the hosts. I always go out of my way to treat them as I would my own home. I have used Airbnb several times. I also particularly love the Landmark trust properties in Britain and Italy which allows you to stay in the most marvellous historic properties . If you aren't familiar with these , take a look !!
