Property info

The Old down inn is set in the heart of the Mendip hills, surrounded by rolling Somerset countryside. We are located within 30 minutes of Wells, Cheddar, Wookey hole, Glastonbury and Street, Whilst being connected to Bath and Wells by the 173 bus service. We are also located within 20 minutes of the Bath and West showground in shelton mallet. The building was originally built in 1640 as a coaching inn, it was once a mail sorting office, with the royal mail charter displayed in the hallway. There is a large on site car park with ample parking. The restaurant serves mostly traditional pub food with our specials board showing off whats in season, serving locally produced food where possible.
