The Old Kitchen is a newly renovated cottage in Exford, sleeping up to 4 guests across two king-size bedrooms, one on the ground floor and one upstairs with an en-suite bathroom featuring a bath with shower over. There is also a ground floor shower room with toilet and hand basin. The open-plan living area comprises a newly fitted kitchen with electric hob and oven, fridge, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine and toaster, plus a dining table and seating. Upstairs, a cosy snug offers an L-shaped sofa and smart TV. Both bedrooms have TVs mounted on the wall, and the property is furnished throughout with bed linen, duvets, towels and Bramley toiletries provided. Outside, guests can enjoy a private patio to the front of the cottage with table and chairs, enclosed by a garden gate, and there is off-road parking nearby for two cars, along with an EV charging point (charged per kW/h). Wifi, heating and electricity are included in the price. On arrival, guests are welcomed with homemade cake, bread, jam, local butter, eggs and milk, plus tea, coffee and sugar. A travel cot and high chair are available on request for a GBP 15 supplement, which should be arranged at the time of booking. The property is suitable for children and has a ground floor bedroom and shower room, though the gravel parking area, external steps to the front door and internal steps mean it may not suit those with restricted mobility, and it is not wheelchair accessible. Sorry, no dogs are permitted, and the property is strictly non-smoking. At Christmas, a real decorated tree sourced locally is provided along with festive decorations in the living area. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am. Next door is Cascade Cottage, sleeping 6, with entirely separate outside space and private entrance.

The centre of Exford is a 10 minute walk from The Old Kitchen. Here you will find two pubs that serve lunch and evening meals, and a tea shop. There is also a village shop that sells various essentials. Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Tesco will all deliver to The Old Kitchen so you can take away the worry of bringing all your food with you. Exford is situated pretty much in the centre of Exmoor offering great access to all that Exmoor has to offer. It is a small rural village based around a traditional village green with children play area, beside it sits the village shop. Exford and the surrounding area is famous for its beautiful and unspoiled countryside making it ideal for hiking, biking, riding and fishing. Just 10 minutes from Exford is Alderman's Barrow, just one example of the opportunity explore an incredible Bronze age Landscape, with it’s mysterious stone settings, barrow and hut circle. A footpath runs from Alderman's Barrow to Larkbarrow which is the ruins of an isolated farm that was used for firing practice during World War II. This area is described by Exmoor National Park as being surrounded by miles of open, rolling grass moorland, and one of the best places to experience remoteness and tranquility on Exmoor.
