'The Oyster Bed' is a luxury shepherd's hut nestled in a quiet back street just a short walk from Whitstable’s main high street. It’s a cozy & tranquil oasis; a perfect place to rest after a day on the beach or exploring the quirky shops or local eateries that Whitstable has to offer. Crafted with love and care, our fully insulated, double glazed, heated wagon boasts a comfortable raised king size bed, providing a restful night’s sleep and ample room to store luggage. It comes equipped with a log burner which creates a warm and relaxing environment during the winter months. There’s also a hand-crafted wooden kitchenette complete with small fridge, toaster, microwave, double electric hob and tea/coffee making facilities. There is also extra fridge space in the neighbouring shed should you need extra storage. Next to the kitchen is a fully-equipped bathroom with hot shower and toilet. Enjoy our indoor dining area or eat alfresco in the private courtyard next to the hut. Free parking for one car is available on the drive in front of the hut, as well as free on-street parking in the neighbouring streets. Please note that the entrance to the shepherd's hut is located at the back of the property on Essex Street. There is a lock box on the gate where the keys will be placed. The code and WiFi password will be sent to you before you arrive. We have a no-pet and adult-only policy at our property, so please take this into consideration before making a booking. This area of Kent has so much to offer from the history of the towns and city, to the stunning landscapes. Within Whitstable, key highlights are the harbour and beach where you can try Whitstable’s famous oysters and a range of other seafood. Also, a short walk along the coast from the harbour, you can find the famous Tankerton slopes; great for an afternoon stroll. For people interested in history and culture, there are places like Whitstable castle and the Whitstable museum.
