Welcome to Macdonald’s Farm. As part of your stay with us, we are delighted to be able to offer our guests full use of our wonderful facilities. Here you are able to relax on picnic rugs in our farm garden surrounded by our animals, enjoy a glass of your favourite drink at our Sundowner Bar, and put your feet up whilst the children enjoy the playground or ride on one of the farms friendly ponies. Come and meet our wonderful animals and you can even help us feed them! You can now try our fantastic wood fire Pizza as part of our Food at the Farm nights and a drink of something cold under our festoon lit garden. Our Sundowner bar is a great place to find the best barista coffee in town with a naughty Danish on the side to start your day, we have sandwiches and salads plus smoothies on offer and we sell lovely local Cornish icecream! Our reception team are on hand for all your visitor info needs and we have a lovely log fire in our cafe should the weather get chilly.

Welcome to our 5 Star Award Winning family-run touring park and campsite situated in Porthcothan, within the ‘Seven Bays’ – one of the most beautiful parts of North Cornwall. Set back from the rugged coastline, we have far reaching country views in a very quiet secluded spot, looking down the valley, disturbed only by the sound of our animals. Come and enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep with an uninterrupted panoramic sky, perfect for star gazing. Our nearest beach – Porthcothan, only a 10 minute walk away is a delightful little bay, great for bathing, surfing and snorkelling. We are situated in the best area to explore the North Coast and local hot spots of Padstow & Newquay. We also have a bus stop to take you either way along the coast. We welcome both families and couples looking for a chilled, relaxing holiday – we do allow small groups but please call to confirm before booking, we are a quiet family-run site. Sleep under the Cornish stars, eat some of the best local food in our wonderful farm garden, meet our animals, ride a pony or enjoy a drink or two on our gorgeous veranda and soak in the views of the valley. Welcome to the Potting Barn. Our secret cabin nestled in our exclusive private Glamping area. With on-site VIP parking, plus your try own garden and cooking facilities this is a unique stay at Macdonald’s Farm. Inside the Potting Barn you will find a deluxe king bed plus sofa, TV, breakfast bar, wood burner and mini kitchen area fitted with combo microwave/oven, sink, dual ring hob plus everything you need to cook. You also have your own private ensuite toilet and use of our brand new Glamping facilities at the entrance to the Glamping area. Outside you have your own private garden with outdoor furniture and a fire pit for those all important BBQ’s under a starry sky.

Located in the ‘Seven Bays’ – Porthcothan beach is a 10 minute walk away from us or a 5 minute bus ride down the hill. It is a north west-facing cove backed by grassy dunes popular for sunbathing and a favourite with families. The sandy beach opens out at low tide, connecting up with small coves to the north and south and at high tide the beach becomes very sheltered from swell and winds due to the cliffs. Swimming and board sports are on offer in a sheltered sea. The coast path gives wonderful views to both the north and the south as well as displaying a variety of wildlife. Parking, shops and toilet facilities are close by with beach level access. This pristine beach is often crowd-free and a haven for swimmers and bodyboarders, but its starring role as Nampara Cove in BBC’s Poldark series has – understandably – put its beauty in the spotlight. We are also conveniently located a 5min walk from the South West Coast path and 20min from the popular tourist destinations of Padstow and Newquay.
