Thistle Lodge has two bedrooms, the main with a king size bed and the other with two small single beds. The living room, dining area and kitchen are combined. There is free unlimited WiFi and a smart TV (full range of terrestrial channels and possibility of streaming from your Netfix/Prime/Apple etc. account) . The dining area seats 4 people, and the kitchen is fully equipped with gas oven and hob, extractor fan, microwave oven, fridge-freezer, electric kettle, electric toaster, and washing machine (but no dishwasher), crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans. There is one bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. The lodge has gas-fired central heating and hot water. There is a free single car parking space next to the lodge. Climb four stairs on to the decking to get into the lodge. The balustraded decking extends around the end of the lodge where there is an outdoor sitting/dining area with a view over the fields to Dollar and the Ochil hills. The area around Dollar is great for walking dogs and we will generally accept dogs to stay on request. However we cannot accept cats/reptiles/other uncaged pets in the lodge.

Welcome to Thistle Lodge and Dollar in general. We moved to Dollar over three years ago and quickly settled to feel at home here. Dollar is a friendly, vibrant village with a wide range of amenities. We love the beautiful countryside and enjoy walking the footpaths in the Ochil hills and along the Devon River. We are happy to be able to help guests get to know and appreciate the local area and its attractions, and to make your stay in Thistle Lodge as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

Thistle Lodge is on a quiet lodge park which is next to the Devon River and about 20 minutes walk (950m) south of Dollar village. In Dollar there is a supermarket, delicatessen, pharmacy, Post office, The Wee Bookshop, cafes, a restaurant, a gastro pub, a bar, and several takeaway food shops. There are some cycle routes nearby, and plenty of footpaths for walking locally including along the Devon River and up Dollar Glen to Castle Campbell (can be seen from Thistle Lodge) and on to the Ochil hills. Dollar is well positioned in Central Scotland having relatively easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth for onward travel nationally and internationally. Glenfarg community bus service 23 (Kinross-Tillicoultry-Kinross) can pickup/drop near the Lodge Park gate, runs on from Kinross as service 55 to Perth, and connects in Tillicoultry with Midland Bluebird service 52 to/from Stirling and Alloa (for nearest train stations). Edinburgh Airport is about 51 km away by car (also Ingliston Park & Ride for the Edinburgh tram and busses).
