The Top Floor @ Cantref house is a spacious self contained one double bed accommodation. Set in the heart of the Brecon Beacons and has been graded 4 star by Visit Wales Tourist Board! The Top Floor benefits from its own entrance, accessed via 26 outdoor steps. It is brightly decorated with a quirky feel. Great views from the lounge, bedroom and balcony. There is an information room which has a telescope, leaflets maps etc on the local area with views looking across to the Black Mountains. It’s a wonderful location for walking, cycling or scenic drives. There is a Horse Riding centre just a short walk away.

Cantref House has been in our family for 5 generations. The Top Floor is just as the name suggests. Situated on the top floor of the house being completely self contained accessed by an outside staircase. The decor is colourful and quirky! The apartment is very spacious and very well equipped. We love to meet our guests but once there you’re left to enjoy the peace and quiet that Cantref House offers. But, if you have any queries , problems or need information we are usually on hand either in person or just a message or phone call away. I am generally available should I be needed via face to face, telephone, texts, or Messenger. Although the accommodation is self contained the main house is very much a family home.

Cantref is a particularly special area due to its location in the national park, Walks of all levels are in abundance from the door step, including the highest peak Pen y Fan. It is an ideal base for walkers and cyclists. Bike storage is available upon request. Cantref Adventure Farm offers horse riding and is 5 minute walk away. The town of Brecon is 4 miles away and takes just under an hour to walk to. The famous book town of Hay on Wye is just over 15 miles away. Crickhowell and Abergavenny are under half an hour away. Brecon has a theatre, cinema, Cathedral concerts, monthly comedy nights along with a selection of different places to eat. The nearest train stations would be located in Abergavenny or Merthyr Tydfil. There is a bus station in Brecon. Buses do come out to the village of Llanfrynach which is roughly 1.6 miles from Cantref. In the information room there is lots of info. on local walks along with maps and books.
