Company info

Mimizuku Co., Ltd. was founded to preserve Mimizuku Lodge— a cherished mountain retreat in Myoko Kogen—and to pass its legacy on to future generations. This lodge holds deep sentimental value for me. My father loved this place dearly, and we purchased it together in 2001. Later, the lodge was entrusted to the educational corporation where I serve as a director, and for many years it was used as a training and retreat facility for staff and students, becoming a beloved part of our community. To ensure that the lodge can continue to be cared for and enjoyed by many people, I established a separate company dedicated to its maintenance and operation. Our mission is to offer guests a place of genuine relaxation amid the rich natural environment of Myoko, while continuing to protect and cherish the lodge that meant so much to my father.

Property info

🌲 A Mountain Home to Return To Nestled in Myoko-Togakushi National Park, this private wooden lodge is a cozy retreat for groups up to 15. All rooms feature private toilets & sinks, ensuring complete privacy even for large groups. The heart of the lodge is a 12-seat solid wood table for gatherings. A second large table, paired with high-speed Wi-Fi, makes this space perfect for remote work and sports team strategy sessions. Far superior to basic lodgings, it serves as a premium hideaway for adult athletes, trail runners, and mountain bikers. 🔥 Winter Comfort This traditional wooden lodge features an open atrium with floor heating. However, it differs from centrally heated hotels. In winter, we highly recommend bringing warm indoor clothing. 🚗 Winter Access (Important) From December to March, heavy snow and ice are common. • 4WD vehicle with snow tires is strictly required. • The access road includes a long uphill slope. Vehicles without proper winter equipment cannot reach the property. ℹ About Your Stay This is a private self-check-in home, not a hotel. Please treat the lodge as your own home and assist with light tidying and waste separation at check-out. There is no on-site staff. 🌲 Nature Setting Surrounded by forest, occasional insects may appear depending on the season. This is a natural part of staying in the mountains. 🌸 Year-Round Mountain Living Enjoy Myoko's natural bounty each season: spring mountain vegetables, fresh summer produce, and autumn mushrooms. Our fully equipped large kitchen is also ideal for athletes to freely prepare nutrition-focused meals at their own pace. During the green season (May–Nov), BBQ equipment is available upon request. Our covered parking space ensures you can enjoy it safely even on rainy days. Private chef dinners and traditional Japanese embroidery workshops may also be arranged upon request.

Neighborhood info

The Changing Face of Myoko Myoko is not only a ski destination. It is a mountain that transforms beautifully throughout the year. In early spring, melting snow reveals fresh mountain vegetables and delicate cherry blossoms. Naena Falls becomes especially powerful as snowmelt feeds the river. Summer brings deep green forests and cool mountain air, perfect for quiet walks and slow mornings. In autumn, the mountains glow in brilliant shades of red and gold, creating breathtaking scenery just outside your door. Each season offers a different rhythm of life — and a different way to experience this mountain home. ________________________________________ Outdoor Activities & Access In winter, multiple ski resorts are easily accessible from the lodge, including Akakura Onsen Ski Resort just a 3-minute drive away. From spring to autumn, guests can enjoy hiking trails, visits to Naena Falls, strolls through the charming hot spring town, and golf at nearby courses (approximately 4 minutes by car). ________________________________________ Nearby Facilities Although the lodge is located in a peaceful forest setting, daily necessities are conveniently available within a 10-minute drive. • 7-Eleven convenience store (approx. 8 minutes / 4.9 km) • Daiichi Supermarket (approx. 9 minutes / 5.5 km) ________________________________________ Restaurants & Dining The Akakura Onsen area (about 2 minutes by car or 18 minutes on foot) offers a wide selection of restaurants, cafés, bars, and izakayas. The area becomes especially lively in winter and is popular with both domestic and international visitors. Around Myoko-Kogen Station, you will also find long-loved local eateries and regional favorites cherished by residents. Local dining recommendations are available in our guest guide.
