Your hosts, Chris, Hayley and their daughter Maggie, are a friendly Cambridge family who love welcoming guests to Cabin-on-Swayne. Chris, a former member of the New Zealand Police, now runs his own business from an office on the property, while Hayley is a local primary school teacher. As a family, we’re passionate about connecting with people and enjoy spending time outdoors walking, biking, and playing golf. You’ll also meet our much-loved pets – Ivy, our lively Jack Russell, and Olive, our tabby cat – who add to the homely feel of your stay.
Located in the heart of the Waikato, Cambridge is a charming small town often called the “Town of Trees.” With its leafy streets, boutique shops and relaxed, quaint feel, it’s a place that quickly wins people over. You’ll find everything from top-class restaurants to family-friendly eateries, along with a local movie theatre for a cosy night out. Outdoor lovers can explore the Te Awa River Ride biking trail or enjoy a round at the stunning Tieke Golf Course. Cambridge is also home to world-class sporting facilities, with the Velodrome and Lake Karapiro hosting major national and international events year-round.
