Waihi Beach is a popular spot with boutique shops and eateries, the beach is very safe for surfing, swimming, or fishing, if you feel like a walk then there are coastal trails to Orokawa Bay, Humunga Bay and Anzac Bay, along the way you will see waterfalls, headlands and historical sites, Waihi was famous for Gold Mining, so why not head to the Wahi Discovery Centre for some insight into the gold era, or have a nosy at the Waihi Arts Centre & Museum. If you want to keep the kids entertained why not try the Goldfields Railway & Hauraki trail take a train ride and explore the Karangahake Gorge.
