We welcome guests to our fully off grid, sustainable Bed and Breakfast with rural mountain and valley views near Garston, Southland. Just 45 minutes south of Queenstown, we are on the route to Milford Sound. Our two ensuite rooms are cosy and private. Enjoy relaxing in your outdoor seating areas, or take a stroll around the property. There is a shared guest lounge and kitchenette where you can self cater using our microwave and outdoor BBQ, or we can prepare meals on request - please enquire. A self service complimentary breakfast is included in your stay.
Mary and Jon want to share their slice of off-grid paradise with travellers. They are slowly converting a former piece of farmland into a peaceful haven that is slightly elevated above the Mataura valley with awesome views to the surrounding mountains. Olive trees and fruit trees are being planted, along with a reforestation project that is a work in progress.
The Mataura River that flows through the valley is famous for trout fishing, there are several bike trails nearby, including the Welcome Rock trail, and the township of Garston boasts a popular coffee and lunch van, unique Furniture store and Honey Shop - a definite must visit.
