This adults-only retreat blends eco-luxury with sustainable living, offering a peaceful escape where guests can disconnect while taking in farmland, forest, and mountain views through the cabin’s floor-to-ceiling glass walls. Nestled in the foothills of Karangahake Gorge, Ruru PurePod overlooks Mount Karangahake and surrounding rural landscapes. Situated on a working farm where paddocks meet regenerating bush and river valleys, the area is alive with native birds such as kererū, tūī, fantails, and kingfishers, and guests may hear the ruru (morepork) at dusk. At night, guests can stargaze beneath the clear Coromandel skies in complete seclusion. The Hauraki Rail Trail is part of Ngā Haerenga Great Rides of New Zealand and is a great ride for all ages and abilities.
