The photos don’t quite do the room justice — it’s actually much more spacious in person. We really enjoyed the peace and greenery. The host was super friendly and even went bush to help us retrieve a lost drone!

What a GEM of a little place away from home this is. We had a awesome stay, the guest house was exceptionally clean, tidy and neat ... everything you need for a day or two or even longer is available. Very relaxing atmosphere and the outside property is a treat to wonder around looking at nature and all the garden sculptures. Ray and Elena was very welcoming and great hosts. Definitely highly recommended and can't wait to book the guest house again - see you soon Goods :-)

Is exactly as advertised. "A budget double room in a house", but nicer & great value. Is a lovely older character villa thats been modernised. Quiet, peaceful, homely, lovely bathroom & a great host, will definitley stay again if need accomodation near Waihi.

The scenery was fabulous, as usual in NZ.

The scenery was fabulous, as usual in NZ. I loved being close to the bush and not far to the beach is always a bonus. The Best of both worlds. An adequate supply of some very good eateries in both Waihi and Waihi Beach. Super markets supported self catering very nicely.

Provides good access to the Coromandel peninsula, cathedral cove and other local activities. The falls retreat nearby had great local meal options and wine for those not wanting to cook while staying at highland lodge

II only stayed there because the price was so good and it...

II only stayed there because the price was so good and it was close to Paeroa. It is beautiful and the river running through the gauges with I things to do seemed inviting.. I would love to take my grandchildren to stay longer so they can enjoy the other activities.

Loved where we stayed we were a bit disappointed went to the pub didnt relize kitchen closed by 6.30 otherwize would came eRlier ate there .the gorge is really lovely to walk around and the cool cafe and not far from waihi

Favourite place to eat was the Talisman Cafe which is open...

Favourite place to eat was the Talisman Cafe which is open to all, the gardens are so beautiful. The Waikino Pub has great beers and food suitable for vegetarians and they have takeout too. The Victoria Battery Tramway & Museum is a must if you are into the history of the place, again open to all. At the moment if you are using the Rail Trail, the path between the George swing bridge and the Railway Tunnel bridge is not open to cyclists, so you have to use the tunnel
