Franklin wharf and the whole dock side area is very...
Franklin wharf and the whole dock side area is very interesting with many things to see. It id definitely worth a long walk around looking at the boats and shops and getting up close to all kinds of vessels.

The wharf is lively and colourful, with lots of great places to eat & drink. The best ice cream/gelato in Tasmania (Van Dieman's Land Ice Creamery) can be found on a barge in the harbour.

St Ives is close to Salamanca Market, Franklin wharf, a historic area of Hobart and many other areas a traveler might want to visit. It was quiet, comfortable, well equipped with a small kitchenette and everything you need close by. It is an uphill walk from the wharf but I enjoyed this too. I recommend it to anyone staying in Hobart.

The check-in brochure contained maps and restaurant recommendations which were VERY helpful. We loved the Franklin Wharf and Drunken Admiral restaurants and took a Hobart Historic Cruise - all because they were shown in the brochure.
The front-desk staff was extremely helpful with answering all questions.
The location was GREAT! An easy walk to everything, including all ferries.
