If you have limited time in Scotland feel free to spend your money on a few items here to say you bought them here but the prices are higher than everywhere else we were in the Scotland. Very eclectic and enjoyable part of the world. It's a must see for sure.

So many amazing things to see on the Royal Mile. I absolutely loved it. We found a nice restuarant on the Royal Mile and had some nice ales and lunch. Dave (my son in law) and I had the haggis. Yummy.

Lovely architecture and quite scenic. Unfortunately packed with tourist traps, so buyer beware. There are some true gems, local merchants and family-owned businesses that are worth seeking out for the best bargains.

We did a Hop-on, Hop-off bus in Edinburgh and stopped at the Grassmarket - very interesting and a must see is the Greyfriars Kirk and Greyfriars Bobby's grave. Toured the Holyrood Castle - very interesting and a lovely gift shop.

Lots of fun things to see and do and just a nice place to hang out. Loads of lunch spots; we would recommend the Whiskey and Haggis arcade and suggest try the Robert Burns Famous Haggis with whiskey sauce; one portion is enough for 2 people.

The real St Mary's Close.

The real St Mary's Close. Amazing "Museum" which is actually a series of uncovered streets that were originally built beneath the current road, below the town. When the plague hit, the poor were entombed there. The history of it was mind-boggling. A must to see. The Mile itself just great to walk, stop, sip a drink or two. The Dome restaurant and Bars wonderous at Xmas. Fantastic array of external and internal Christmas lights, trees.

The location was excellent if you want to be able to get to central edinburgh but not stay in the touristy part of town. We both walk to a big park to exercise and hang with locals. It felt more like a neighborhood than a place surrounded by hotels. The bus stop was literally outside our door so going to the royal mile and around edinburgh was easy by bus. There were quite a few restaurants right on our street from which to pick.

Fresh, clean, modern apartment. Quite spacious. Beds were comfortable, shower was amazing. Location couldn’t be better. Easy walk to grassmarket area and the royal mile. There’s a playground right around the corner if you’re traveling with kids. Our apartment had a view of Edinburgh Castle. Owner was very responsive and helpful.

We had an amazing stay at Virgin Hotels Edinburgh. The location is perfect, within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, and many great restaurants and bars. The room was stylish, spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff were warm, professional, and always happy to help. The hotel has a beautiful design and a great atmosphere, making it one of the best places to stay in Edinburgh. We would definitely come back.

Located directly across from Waverly station, it was convenient and yet still quiet. Easy (uphill) walk to the Royal Mile, it's convenient to all the sites. Rented a car 2 days to travel outside Edinburgh abd car rental place is at Waverly station. Super convenient. Apartment was clean and perfectly sized. Couldn't check in early but there is storage spCe for luggage which was helpful.

Great location right on the High Street, in the heart of the Royal Mile — lively during the day, wonderfully quiet at night. The apartment was clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, making for a really comfortable stay. Couldn't have asked for a better base to explore Edinburgh. Highly recommend!!!

It was worth it for the price! We went mid June and other hotels in Edinburgh were so expensive! This place was affordable and easy to get to using the bus system. You can walk or take the bus to the royal mile and there is a grocery store and food options s nearby.

Excellent location close to the Royal Mile and main part of Edinburgh. Apartment was small but cosy. There was a sofa bed in the living room and a double bed in the bedroom so it fit our family of 4.

The hotel’s main advantage is undoubtedly its location directly on the Royal Mile, which is perfect for exploring Edinburgh. I also appreciated the availability of on-site parking, although spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The room itself was spacious and generally well maintained.

As a family of four we love it very much. Close to everything, very clean, cozy and the staffs were wonderful. If we go back to Edinburgh we want to stay here again. They have rooftop that oversee the city, very beautiful. We walked to the Royal Mile. Hop on hop off bus very close once we go outside the entrance, we can even take breaks between tours in the apartment.
