The place was ready and clean when we got there. Rhys was there to meet us. Rhys is EXTREMELY helpful and will always have time for a chat. The garden is VERY well kept (seems as if Rhys mows the lawn 3 times a week). Swimming pool and BBQ facility very well maintained.

The town of Merimbula offers comprehensive shopping.
The town of Merimbula offers comprehensive shopping. It is located central to any day trip from 30 minutes to one hour in distance. There are so many “walking” tracks and Merimbula Lake Apartments is a 15 minute flat walk into town. Parking around the shops is ample.
Many dining options are on offer both in town and surrounding areas with water views, whether it is the lake or the ocean. Seafood in abundance to either buy and cook for oneself or when out dining and there’s the thrill of seeing migrating whales (whilst having lunch at the Tathra Pub!

It is a very small town with limited internet, in fact there was not internet available when I arrived. The whole town was down. In winter, cafes and restaurants close at 2pm. There is no where to have a meal.

Photographer's paradise, especially Horse Head Rock and Camel Rock. Blue Pool is an amazing place to snorkel. The butcher, Bermagui Fresh Food Emporium, in the main street, have delicious ham! The Golf Club serve great affordable meals.

Bega is a typical NSW country town with a mix of old and modern buildings and facilities. The country around Bega is hilly lush and green. Reminds me of some of the north island of NZ. To get around the town and surrounding area you need a car or bike. Bega is a short drive to some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. Fishing is good, especially off the Tathra jetty. Tathra pub is a great venue. Meals, music ect. Views over the ocean. Sunday morning at the Tathra pub are people that recite poetry. Very entertaining.

Tathra was quiet and unpretentious and the beach and the famous wharf were worth visiting. Plenty of nearby walks and National parks. Main dining options were the hotel, which was inexpensive and the food was a bit better than average pub fare. The local pizza shop was the only dinner alternative, but the pizza was ruined by a crazily excessive amount of raw garlic (do they eat their own pizza?) The café on the wharf was good, especially for breakfast. But overall, it was good to put some money into Tathra and support the local community.

Loved our walk to the Pambula river mouth just up the beach from the park. It was a beautiful spot.

For on off the track, quiet,wildlife experience then this is perfect. A gorgeous place with beautiful beach and lake and friendly people. There's plenty of colourful birdlife and a wonderful place to be revived.

Without a doubt, perfectly stunning apartment with a view to die for. The main bedroom had the same view to wake up to.
The sunroom was a delight with a breakfast nook overlooking the vast expanse of the sea and Pambula beach, the beach just a 10 walk away.
The special touches were chocolates & biscuits and a bottle of red to indulge in. The pantry was well stocked with condiments, tea and coffee, a coffee machine and more.
We ate mainly in the apartment but there are some great eateries in Pambula and Merimbula which was close by.
This was the best place for a quiet break away and very private.
Definitely stay again.

Tura Beach has everything you need for a holiday stay.
Tura Beach has everything you need for a holiday stay. Golf course handy and beach views. Nice areas for short or long walks, but be prepared for some hills. Has Woolworths and other shops. Proximity to Merimbula, Bega and Tathra is good if you want a change of scenery.

Lovely to be back again - our friendly hosts Neil and Komoko let us know the cabin booked wasn't the one we had last year and gave us the option of changing back to that one (which we did).
The property is close to Bega with a short but good dirt road. The views from the cabin verandah and the large old gum trees nearby are wonderful. The walks around the property were great for our four-legged companion - who wasn't too startled by the cattle and the ducks on the dams! The cabin is warm and compact with everything we needed. Many more birds than last year, and the wombats were ambling around at night. We even saw a deer jumping a fence just outside the property as we left.
