Tathra was quiet and unpretentious and the beach and the...

Tathra was quiet and unpretentious and the beach and the famous wharf were worth visiting. Plenty of nearby walks and National parks. Main dining options were the hotel, which was inexpensive and the food was a bit better than average pub fare. The local pizza shop was the only dinner alternative, but the pizza was ruined by a crazily excessive amount of raw garlic (do they eat their own pizza?) The café on the wharf was good, especially for breakfast. But overall, it was good to put some money into Tathra and support the local community.

Tathra is terrible (I'm only saying that because I don't want too many people to visit this awesome, natural, peaceful and friendly place) Have dinner at the Tathra Pub as it's a family friendly, modern and scenic venue. The coffee at Wild Orchid Cafe brings me back everyday

friendly staff, amazing view! breath taking views! all the facilities one could want and need. A sleepy little haven unpopulated and not over commercialised. Tathra offered everything you need without the Bussel.

Not lots of places to eat but what there is are nice.

Not lots of places to eat but what there is are nice. You can easily walk around the town at the beach but there is a hill if you want to head to the pub on the headland. Nice place to relax and unwind!

Tathra is a lovely small township catering mainly for the tourist trade. Plenty to see and do if your style is outdoor activity. Great surfing beaches and walks. Some Historical sights worth a trip to see.

I was very surprised to see that very few shops were open at the weekend, especially as, Tathra appeared to have a lot of visitors from out of town. I thought the park was an excellent area for the children and was very appealing.

An excellent location, we wish we could have stayed longer, but we only needed a stopover. The hotel is located in a nice building, the room was spatious and clean, the bed comfy. We did not try the restaurant, but it seemed quite nice. The staff was extra friendly and helpful, very responsive prior to our arrival. We did not know our exact arrival times, since we were driving there, while sightseeing, and they arranged everyting in such a way, that we had no worries about our check-in.

Tathra Beach is right next door, so it was easy to fish or walk on the beach. Tathra Wharf is also just a 4 minute drive away, making it a great location for fishing. The ingredients, such as beef and pork, were so good that I was able to have a very satisfying meal whether I cooked it myself or ate at a cafe within a few minutes' walk. The apartment was clean and spacious, so it was a good place to stay.

The hotel staff were excellent. There was sand in my car, and they even provided a vacuum cleaner for me to clean it out. I had a really wonderful two-night stay and would definitely come back if I get the chance. However, I'm not sure why, but as an Asian person, people in this small town tend to stare at me—some with cold looks—though I've also met very friendly locals.

All about location. Across the road from beach. Next door to a great cafe - Wild orchid with a great vibe & menu. Also only a short drive to the Tathra Hotel & Brewery.
