I spent an incredible 5 nights at this wonderful location. The staff were exceptional, friendly, helpful, punctual and the service was exemplary. Breakfast every morning with your cafe au lait made to order is a great way to start the day. The location is excellent, walkable to everything, The decor is gentle and understated, situated in a beautiful ancient building. Onsite parking - make sure to ask ahead of arrival. The room was large and very comfortable. I was able to meet the owner, and all the staff at their monthly artist reception which was quite a fun treat. I highly recommend for solo, couples, families and will return. Special thanks to Olivia, Victoria, Aman and all the staff who made my stay so memorable.

Easy access from the highway with sufficient on-street parking in front. There is a bus stop one block over, so access to the historical center is easy. The room is no frills, but is clean and has everything you need for either a short or long stay. The kitchenette is sufficient for making a breakfast or snack.

A quiet and cosy place in between the station and the Roman Arena, very close to both, yet very quiet. I usually don't sleep very well in hotels, or I wake up often, but this one was an exception - I slept better than at home. The personnel was very helpful and gave us tips as to where to eat and what to visit.

July music festivals interfered with access to the Amphitheatre, and the Jardin de la Fontaine was closed all day to the public though there did not seem to me much of a crowd at the evening event. So no Temple of Diana. The archaeological (Romantic) museum was good, Maison Carree interesting. Restaurants average. Rail corrections good. Did not try buses - there seem to be at least three companies. France has gone crazy with privatisation. Did it learn nothing from Thatcher?

A quiet, picturesque little fishing town with proximity to beaches and wetlands. There is a lot to do for a tourist, many good Seafood restaurants and several beautiful beaches. I went horse riding with the company "Lecurie des Dunes" on Promenade a cheval. It was a magical excursion. All the horses were well cared for, the guide Joe was the best. Had a wonderful couple of hours.

The town was almost at our doorstep, making it a very short walk to our favorite morning cafe, Ma Cantine. The main street was shady and pleasant with many restaurants with outdoor seating. We loved the cobbled stone streets with boutiques, boulangeries, boucheries, all leading to the Place aux Herbes where a huge Wednesday and Saturday market was held. Several ice cream cafes scattered along the way made for fun stops. The quieter, historic area with its winding and narrow streets, art galleries, a medieval garden, huge church on a high look-out over the area was a pleasant way to explore that section of town. A short walk takes you to a park with swings for kids, and to the municipal swimming pool where one can sign up for morning aquasize classes or just come to swim and sit. Bathing suits can be purchased from a machine if you didn't bring one.

Villeneuve is a very beautiful old small town with well kept traditional buildings. Much quieter than Avignon. But has many great restaurants including traditional French and even a superb and unusual vegetarian. Historic attractions are superb. Great ice cream delicatessen and even tea/coffee. There is a toy shop but suits older visitors more. Easy to walk round the wonderful streets have a drink in the square and select the restaurant for you.

A wonderful little town with a good range of shops and places to eat. The old part of the town was so beautiful and wandering around the quiet streets was magical. We travel in a bit of a whirl, our son's preference. That said, a day in Nimes as part of a week in the Midi we valued. We stayed in the center and experienced the Roman treasures - the Arenes de Nimes, the Maison Carre', the Museum of Romanity. The Jardin de la Fontaine had some interest but rather little garden. The food was fine, as ever in France; the Columbus Cafe is a beautiful place for breakfast or a snack. Alas, I forgot to note the name of a very lively and excellent restarurant for lunch. The Pont du Gard 32 km away is a must-see/ must-traverse - a 2000-year-old Roman 3-tiered aqueduct in great condition, rather glowing in the late afternoon.

Le grau du roi is a beautiful compact fishing port. It is located along a bar and cafe canal like estuary. To sit whilst sipping a cold beer, enjoying a local wine or indulging in a splendid seafood meal whilst watching the boats returning in the evening or the sun setting over the lighthouse guarded quayside is heavenly.
