The staff is very very nice. The remote location is ideal to relax and the animals on the premises just elevate the whole stay The food in the restaurant is quite good and the prices are very reasonable

This was one of the most unique experiences we have ever had. The property is absolutely stunning. It's built around the existing rock formation so as to not damage the natural beauty around it. Our room was well appointed and incredibly comfortable. All our meals were included in our stay and were delicious. The staff were amazing! So attentive and able to customize our excursions so we could make the most out of our time there. The property was amazing but it was truly the staff who made our experience memorable.

Khan River Lodge is a secluded location, wild and highly scenic, surrounded by private land. It is about 20 km off the B2 road, which we did not quite realize until we got there. The drive itself is a lot of fun, as we saw lots of wildlife, but it is a mix of sand and dirt, challenging for smaller cars without 4WD. The property is cozy, with only about six double-occupancy units, of which we were occupying two (we were traveling as two adults and two older children). The "restaurant" is the lodge kitchen: two wonderful ladies preparing delicious meals and serving them in style. There is no posted menu, but the daily food offerings are artfully presented and tasty, based on local produce and meat. We did not realize we would be the only guests -- and we booked the self-catering option, counting on eating at the restaurant. We had booked self-catering options in other locations, but never realized how remote this one was. Upon arrival, we learned that the expectation for "self-catering" was that we would bring our own food and not need the restaurant. Since the property was just opening after the New Year holiday, they had to scramble a bit, but were kind enough to accommodate (read: feed) us. We loved the meals and the ambiance, the quiet, the lack of light pollution at night, the variety of wildlife roaming around the property, and the laid-back atmosphere -- self-service honesty bar, well-stocked and open to us at all hours.

We had a wonderful stay at Okamanja Lodge. The room was so cute and beautifully decorated, very cozy and comfortable, and the lobby was just as lovely, with great attention to detail and a warm atmosphere. One of the most magical parts of the stay was being welcomed by giraffes every time we passed the gate — truly unforgettable and something you don’t experience every day! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. A very special thank you to Frieda, the chef, who was absolutely amazing. Her food was delicious, and her warmth and kindness made us feel completely at home. A peaceful, beautiful place surrounded by nature — we would absolutely recommend it to anyone traveling through Namibia.

It was my first time at the Weinberg. What a gem. The loft rooms are exceptional. well equipped, visually very appealing, well furnished, offering some great tourist books and literature on Namibia. The Butcher Block restaurant was exceptional. Great food and service. It will definitely be my go to in Windhoek. Highly reccomended

It was the most amazing place, probably the best place I've been to in Namibia. The dune chalet had fantastic views and you can see giraffes and other game while watching the sunset. It's like in Lion King! The food was great, they made a special vegetarian menu just for me, and the nature drive was amazing. Also, the cheetah farm is highly recommended. I didn't want to go first because I thought it's a zoo-like experience, but it's actually a huge farm where rescued cheetahs have a very good life. Everyone was so nice and helpful, and I am 100% sure that I will come back!

Such an amazing place to stay. From the room, to the service to the food. Everything was flawless. I will be back to stay again

This lodge is located on the banks of the Kavango River, along the route toward Botswana just before entering the Caprivi Strip. That’s why we stayed here twice: once on the way to Botswana and again on our return journey. The lodge offers various levels of comfort, including private cottages and well-equipped tents. We tried both options, and each was comfortable and enjoyable. In every case, there’s a special feeling of being close to nature. In the evenings, after dinner, the staff lights a campfire where guests can relax in the unique atmosphere. The lodge also offers boat tours on the Kavango River, perfect for watching the sunset and encountering hippos. This was truly one of the most unforgettable evenings of our entire trip. The food deserves special mention. The restaurant terrace is beautifully designed, and the dinner we had there was probably the best of our entire journey.

I was spending five months in South Africa working on a book and was in the mood for something different over a long weekend. FlyNamibia/Westair had surprisingly cheap flights from Cape Town to Walvis Bay, and I had heard about a wild little German coastal city easily reachable by van from the airport there. Swakopmund turned out to be even smaller than it looked on Google maps, but the Hansa Hotel was smack dab in the center. It also bills itself as Namibia's oldest hotel, and the place has a fascinating historical vibe. My second-floor room in the main building (it is a sprawling place that takes up a whole block) was comfortable and beautiful . The bar and restaurant were atmospheric. Everything in this quirky, interesting town is a short walk away, including the beach and jetty. Like the Hansa, many of the buildings are architectural/historical gems, and the small museum is informative about the area's tragic colonial past.
