Beautiful view of the Tasman Sea, and a lovely balcony from which to enjoy it! Spacious well appointed room.I wish we had been able to stay for longer.

The room is very clean and the bed is comfortable, the fire place is effective and beautiful when turned on. Good breakfast. And staff are very helpful. Nice rural setting.

We were booked here but upgraded to the Te Waonui hotel so please recognize that this review is actually of that facility. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. We enjoyed the Chef’s 5 course Degustation at the Canopy Restaurant at the hotel. Breakfasts provided plenty of variety. This was a great base to visit both Fox and Franz Josef glaciers.

The location in the middle of the temperate rainforest and its access to the Franz-Joseph glacier is great. Ample parking. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and you feel connected to nature. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and well organized. We loved the bird sounds playing in the room and the bathroom. Awesome turndown service at night with glass water bottles & delish chocolates. Great laundry facilities on site. They truly matched the sounds of the real birds outdoors. The staff was absolutely 100% professional, helpful and accommodating. First class! The five course dinners were delicious and we really enjoyed the view tables They reserved for us each evening. We really like the all inclusive aspect of this retreat as you are pretty isolated once you arrive in France Joseph. This is a cozy spot to end up in at the end of the day!

Due to a double booking situation I was not able to stay here so can’t rate the facilities, but the owner was exceptionally helpful getting us situated at another location, at no extra cost to us. I would stay here again since it looks like a great place to have dinner and drinks, and I am sorry it didn’t work out for us this time.

It’s a clean and comfortable space in very good repair. Strong hot shower, easily usable kitchen facilities, and pleasant seating indoor and out. Thank you for having the Royal Theater Hotel Restaurant menu on the table. You should recommend their pizza as dinner to your customers. The French toast breakfast in the cafe was surprisingly up-scale - beautifully presentated and flavorful. I expected a stack of egg-cooked bread, but I got an artful mound of French toast with tight-cubed fruit and bacon gently drizzled in syrup. Not only scrumptious, but an excellent way to start a biking day. And there were smiles and good cheer from everyone. It was a pleasurable way to get going.

Location was good at walking distance to grocery, heli services, coffee shop etc.
