after driving 5 min through dense forest we arrived at the reception, checked in and then went to the viewing deck which was overlooking a wide open field. The view was overwhelming.. deers, blue wildebeest, Zebras and three gIraffes were grazing in the wide expanse not more than 50m from us. The same 3 giraffes 'blocked' out path when driving the few meters to our bungalow. What an experience!
The staff were super helpful. The AC wasn't properly cooking, a repair company was just on the premises and they gave them the order to right away also refill the gas on our AC unit.

This hotel, its staff, and the game reserve exceeded all expectations! The service was impeccable, the food was amazing (even had dairy free menus for one of our guests) and our experience was truly unforgettable. As a group of girls on our first-ever safari in South Africa, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to experience it with. Liberty, our driver, was fantastic—he explained everything so well and went above and beyond to help us spot all the animals! Highly recommend!

We were here for only 29 hours but it was such a memorable experience. Our guides for the evening and morning safari, Martin and Lucky, were very knowledgeable and we had a great experience. The food at the rented camp was amazing

Town is small and only supplies the basics.
Town is small and only supplies the basics. Very little paving in town. We felt a little unsafe visiting the Spar. No restaurants or activities for kids. The park is well worth visiting but ideally with a game viewer and guide as it's very hilly and the roads are in a nad state of repair.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the wonderful hospitality I received during my stay this past weekend. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed.
The food was exceptional and truly exceeded the value of what we paid — generous portions, great taste, and beautifully presented. Gogo’s warm and caring hospitality made the experience even more special; it is clear that she loves people and takes pride in making guests feel at home.
The pool experience was also fantastic — clean, refreshing, and perfectly positioned for relaxation.
I was equally impressed by the quality of the furniture and the attention to detail in the décor — everything is top-class and thoughtfully put together, creating a comfortable and elegant environment.
Thank you once again for the outstanding service. I look forward to visiting again and will certainly recommend your lodge to others.

A unique reserve very different from the Kruger in terms of...
A unique reserve very different from the Kruger in terms of stunning scenery with wide vista from hilltops and area of dense forest as well as open plains. Excellent variety of wildlife - the only thing missing on our trip was leopard but we made up for that in the Kruger later on our trip. Highly recommended.

it is a beautiful place if you are nature laving person, has beautiful game reserves, visited Tembe Elephant park beautiful, food very reasonable, staff excellent, game drive all beautiful, it has so many beautiful areas beaches such as Kosi Bay and Sodwana Bay which are not far, for relaxation it is beautiful

Central to a number of tourist attractions, i.e.
Central to a number of tourist attractions, i.e. Umfolozi National Park, St Lucia part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park.
The town is a typical bustling, vibrant rural town, traffic a bit chaotic.
I was staying for business purposes, If on vacation I would have probably stayed closer to where the main tourist attractions are.

Hluhluwe is an amazing place to visit.
Hluhluwe is an amazing place to visit. However, from Johannesburg, you have to be mindful of the N2 to Pongola. There are heavy trucks construction and potholes on that road, the drivers drive with so much frustration.
