Such an amazing weekend escap! It was so nice to relax and chat with friends in the common area. The shuttle bus was really convenient and there is a local bus that goes to the station. My best point is that The Ryokan Tokyo Yugawara is tattoo friendly! So both my friend and I who have tattoos could relax comfortably and we felt really welcomed. There is also so much nature and trails in the area, and beautiful beaches too.

This was one of the best hotels we stayed at. The service, the food, the room and the location were top notch! We booked the room with a private onsen and we loved it! The room was very comfortable and everything was new and in very good condition! We had breakfast and dinner included, which is highly recommended and necessary since there is nothing nearby to eat. The buffet offered a very good variety and a good mix between western and oriental food. Everything was very tasty and of very good quality! Regarding the facilities, we did not try the public onsen since we had the private one in the room but it was very comfortable and with water from real hot springs! The location is very good, you can easily access everything there is to do in Hakone! (It is necessary to book a transfer with the hotel itself to get there from the main train station, since it is somewhat complicated to get there by public transport)

Opened in April 2017, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, an open-air bath or ceramic open-air hot springs bath made with Shigaraki pottery.

So so so beautiful and the staff was amazing only stayed for a night before heading off to my next location but would definitely stay another night to explore Hakone. Tried new foods I normally wouldn’t eat as well which was a great experience as well 🙂‍↕️
