ArtNEST is more than just a hotel, as you'll be staying in a space that's filled with art and lots of character. The common spaces serve as a cafe/art studio/gallery and are filled with paintings, prints and books. If you like surrounding yourself with colorful art inspiration, this is the place for you! The rooms are simple but clean, comfy (including a duvet as bedding, which is rare in Sri Lanka) and very thoughtfully decorated. Sandeepa is a lovely host - he showed us around the fort, shared pictures he took during the tour he gave, and was always quick with replying to any questions I had. And Yunee was a delight to be around, too - she was always smiling and very sweet.

This place is truly serene, located lakeside and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Hikkaduwa, yet still easily accessible by a short tuk-tuk or bike ride. If you love nature and a calm atmosphere, this is definitely the right place. The territory and the garden is truly beautiful. On top, we saw so many different birds on the hotel grounds, and even more if you take a catamaran boat trip at sunrise or sunset (highly recommended!). Shyam and everyone working at the hotel are incredibly hospitable and kind (including Charlie the dog!), making us feel at home straight away. The room and the entire property are beautiful, and the breakfast - served on your own terrace or by the lakeside - is truly amazing and very generous. We would happily come back again 🙂

Everything at the Villa was 10/10!! Sunith and Januka took such great care of us and made sure that everything we needed was taken care of. The breakfasts were great and the general level of service was incredible! We were also able to rent a motorbike at a good price and get a Tuk Tuk service from the train Station and a taxi up to Negambo through the hotel, making everything very easy!! We will definitely return on our next trip to Sri Lanka and can 100% recommend this place to anyone traveling in the area.

Cinnamon Paradise has everything you need if you are looking for a quiet, secluded, cozy and intimate stay in the middle of a cinnamon farm, close to nature and away from the town. We had a very nice stay. The propery is unique and picturesque. The host was very helpful and arranged a perfect vegetarian breakfast for us. Must book when in unawatuna.

The property is located 15 minutes walk from the main tourist area of Unawatuna. It's an amazing property right in the middle of the jungle. All around is green, monkeys and birds will greet you in the morning. At night it's very quite. The room is big and clean. Is provided with AC and mosquito net. The bathroom is provided with Italian Bidet, a luxury for this country, the shower with hot and cold water. The balcony is big! Next to the room there's a small kitchen and fridge that you can use anytime. Jeewan and his wife and their two children made us feel like at home. They'll do everything to make you feel comfortable. Real and nice genuine Family!! They offer a huge and delicious local breakfast for very small money!! The last day, they gave us breakfast for free as farewell!! They also have motorbike rental facility!! Would have loved to stay here for longer!!!
