Accommodations in El Gigante

Aqua is built down the mountain to the water. My villa - which was 2 buildings (one bedroom/bath, one kitchen/dining) with a plunge pool between them. I entered the villa on a wooden deck at ground level and my pool and viewing deck was about 40 feet in the area making it very unique but private. It is in the jungle, so there are a lot of trees and leaves, but my pool was clean and easy to remove leaves. The beach cove is very scenic. The restaurant is casual, and the service is very friendly and attentive. The food is very good. I was there for NYE, and the menu was quite delicious and fun with a firepit, live band and fireworks. The area is remote, but there are day-time walkable beaches and restaurants. I took walks everyday and saw few people on the beaches - it is so peaceful and clean. The resort is well maintained and expanding - I'd love to visit again to see it!

The location is right on a fantastic stretch of beach (Santana Beach). You can walk on the empty beach for ages passing other beaches like Popoyo Beach. The waves can get a bit scary, but that is true for 90% of the Pacific Coast. The Mar Adentro is a clean, comfortable, and peaceful place. We stayed almost a week and loved it so much, that we even returned for a second stay, when we needed the Pacific refreshment after some hot weeks in Nicaragua. The rooms are absolutely clean and very comfortable. The staff is super nice and the restaurant is pretty good, too. The menu is somewhat limited but there are some great meat and veg choices. We also enjoyed the atmosphere. If you are looking for a party place, it's probably not for you. THe Mar Adentro is really quiet, laid back and peaceful. Other options for bars and restaurants are within walking distance, though. It is not exactly cheap, but we found it was more than worth the price.

Clean, stylish, thoughtful design, friendly, helpful.

Location is great, up on a hill with great access to the isolated beach to the north (Playa Amarillo). Easy to walk into town, assuming that one can go up and down the steps.

Booked just one night but ended up staying 3 weeks because we loved it so much! Great vibes, amazing people, Hernan, the volunteers, and all the guests made us feel so welcome and at home. The surf here is amazing, but the best part has been meeting new friends to surf and chill with!

The host was so friendly and amazing, we ended up going to a bar nearby and seeing her and she was so friendly and introduced us to people. She was very attentive and responded quickly to questions and needs. The property was very clean and nice. If you are looking for a resort/hotel, this isn't it. However, if you are looking for a remote and comfortable place close to nature for a good price and some privacy, look no further. Her dog was so sweet and always laid his head in my lap. The KITTEN!! i saw in the reviews that there was a cat, and she did not disappoint. We stayed three of us in the cabin. Our tall german friend said the pullout couch was doable. If you're a fun, easy going traveler, you're going to love this place.

Amazing views and great patio area

I loved the staff, the peaceful and the location. Also, everything was cheep. The beds are brand new and so nice. It’s not some hard box which is typical in Central America. It was right by the beach just a few steps and also the surrounding beach’s are close but I liked Gigante the most. I always felt so relieved when I was back. It’s safe and all the people in Gigante are nice, chill, and laid back. It is a unique and precious community. But there’s just a couple locals and fisherman on the beach. I did not see many tourists. The coffee, beers, clean water were always accessible. There is a guard at night, not that you need one. Also there is hot and cold water in the shower and you can get housekeeping if you want it. Otherwise they just leave you alone which is awesome. I went for Pie De Gigante Spanish School. It changed my life. Playing pool at Juntos was fun. Anyways I can’t wait to go back.
