It is a clean and comfortable historic property closeby the Mersey River in Devonport. We stayed only one night but this property would make a comfortable stay for up to 6 people- 2 queen beds, one in each bedroom, and 2 bunk beds in one bedroom with a Q, for a longer stay. There's a square 8 seater dining table with good lighting. A well stocked kitchen (no dishwasher), a large fridge/freezer, a washing machine & a shower room that has the toilet also. Our vehicle could park safely off the street at the back. The comfortable living room area has an electric "log" fire in the fireplace. Communication was very good with the owner. We recommend Miss Jaquelines Cafe in a lovely old house nearby.

Rooms are huge and recently renovated. The bed was comfy and the bathroom had a big shower with good pressure. Across the road from the inlet channel so you see the Spirit of Tassie on its way in and out. The meals were nice and there were plenty of eating options around the area. Staff were very nice at check in and departure.

Very friendly, clean and convenient.

Very friendly, clean and convenient. I had dropped my wallet at a restaurant Noodles and Rice Restarant at 99 Rooke street. They were so honest the owners. They kept it safely for me to pick up the next day. I had tracked back where I went previous night. Roads were maintained well. Will recommend Devonport by Ferry. Both ways the staff in the Ferry were polite and courteous. Captain was good and knew his work well. Kept us all safe and happy to our destination.

We are from Jumpstart Community Services in Melbourne and we had a 2nd group of 9 Participants which 1 was on a walker and 1 was in a wheelchair. new stayed in Homestead and Long Johns, we had 3 Support staff supporting the group. 1 Staff had the 2 participants with mobility issues in the Long John Cottage and 2 staff had the rest in Homestead. the group loved seeing the animals and pated the horses daily. the group enjoyed being in the garden with the chickens & ducks. I recommend any disability group to stay there as they will really enjoy their stay.

Acacia Hills is a must stay if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway or a romantic staycation. It’s close enough to Devonport so that you can go to dinner by the beach, although the staff stocked our fridges with the basics and a 6 pack of beer free of charge. The views were breathtaking and the sheep, horses and chickens roam around on the mountains that cover your view and they’re so friendly. There’s a beautiful field of foxglove flowers nearby. The room is snug but perfect for couples or solo travellers and has everything you could need. Will be back next time I’m in Tassie. 💚

We liked the accommodation at Amare Beach Resort, the hosts go above and beyond in this boutique accommodation and the beach is serene, vast and beautiful! It is a peaceful getaway and I kept thinking I wish I had stayed in a place like this for our honeymoon many years ago!! Turners Beach is a sleepy, quiet place so not too many things around, a car is required but well worth all the drives! It is also very close to Devonport Airport, only a 15min drive. There are so many amazing places to see in this part of Tasmania, an outstanding place to visit! These photos are of the places you can visit on day trips in this area including the amazing Cradle Mountain and surrounds.

This location was close to many tourist attractions - platypus habitat, gardens , port towns, tourist beaches, and just far away to feel like we could get a sense of how locals lived. It was interesting to see what farming on Hobart was like. We were able to cook our own meals, which was a pleasant change from restaurant food. Easy options for cooking and preparing food. We were most impressed that it was so close to Cradle Mountain, and would stay there again because of all these good things.

Railton is known for its Topiary. The local RSL serves lovely meals and is very friendly. We loved seeing horses walking down the road, and chatting to the locals. It’s a lovely country town, well worth a stop.

enjoyable, relaxed city & easy to get around, parking is good value in Steele Street & convenient to walk around the city streets for shopping, eating, banks etc, it has great & safe walking paths along the bay away from the city with parking & parklands to stop & enjoy a break in & good tourist/visitor hubs for information & assistance, a visit to the Tiagarra store near the Mersey Bluff lighthouse is a must.

The location of Port Sorrell is beautiful and met our expectations. The coastal walkway was great and we went on a great bush walk at Archers Knob in the National Park. Port Sorrell is a small town and unfortunately the options for eating out are not amazing, they are however adequate. There are a couple of good supermarkets so cooking a meal at oystercatcher's is a great option.
