Breakfast was fantastic eggs how you liked them toast cereal OJ. Beds very comfortable. Great hosts highly recommended to anyone staying in Hokitika. Best part of the night was the SPAR I spent over an hour very relaxing @ 39dgs. Close to town hoists very informative. We will be back to stay next year.

This was a self-catering accommodation so we went out for breakfast to the easily walkable eateries nearby. The room was actually a very comfortable, spacious studio apartment within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants in town. Kerry, the owner, was a one man Chamber of Commerce, arranging a helicopter excursion for us, giving advice on good restaurants and good places to buy pounamu (greenstone - don't miss its beauty and cultural significance).and popping up around town almost everywhere we went (his ubiquitous presence became a joke, but he seems to know everyone in town, which was really helpful in making us feel welcome). We very much enjoyed the small town ambiance of Hokitika, the comfort of the apartment, and the friendliness and good cheer of Kerry and his friends. Highly recommended!

This is the second time we have stayed at Blue Spur. Ron and Jan are excellent hosts, very friendly and happy to help with anything needed. Ron also does great bacon and eggs for breakfast. The room is spacious, very comfortable and has all the accessories you would need and spotlessly clean. The bonus here is there is a kitchenette for guests with fridge/freezer, microwave, crockery and cutlery, making it very convenient to prepare an easy meal should you not want to eat out. We would definitely be back for a 3rd time should we be back in Hokitika. 😁
