Apart from the great accommodation and adequate breakfast provisions the manager was amazing. I accidently did some significant damage (broken window) and she was so understanding. We agreed a $ for compensation and everyone was happy :-)

The location was quiet and calm surrounded by beautiful trees. The space is private and cozy. There were lovely touches, like fresh flowers, fresh firewood set up for a fire in the little fireplace, and plenty of fruit, eggs, breakfast meats, milk, juice, fresh ground coffee, and tea options for breakfast. The staff were friendly and responsive. The location is good for a quick walk into town for shopping and food as well as to get to spaces to walk in nature. I could not recommend this place enough!

The whole experience / stay was wonderful. We arrive late around 10pm it was very dark , would like to suggest maybe some Sola lights at the gate entrance. The inside was wonderful, my husband loved the soaking bath , beautiful added touch that there was bath salts provided. Loved the Nespresso coffee machine & fireplace. Just a suggestion but electric blanket on the bed would have been wonderful as the fire took a while to heat up the place, we arrived in the rain, so felt a bit damp. can't wait to stay again.

Quaint little cottage with pretty backyard and bonus little empty studio space for an impromptu yoga session or some interpretive dancing. Easy check-in and good communication from hosts. Cosy interior, close to the township of Olinda, and an easy walk to the beautiful botanical gardens. Good for a two person stay when you require a bedroom each. Afforded privacy and was peaceful and comfortable for a one night stay.

Beautifully renovated rooms, comfortable beds, security gates,and accommodated for my request of a ground floor room, very close the venue we needed to attend. Would definitely stay here again. No noise from Hotel next door.

Olinda is a great place to stay for a couple of nights.

Olinda is a great place to stay for a couple of nights. There is a lot to do and heaps of short trips to be taken . If you like botanical gardens, there is the most magnificent gardens near the main township. A great place to have Devonshire tea!

This a touristy town with some great specialist shops and galleries. I ended up buying two fragile items here (as I was about to hop on a plane home and could keep them safe until then). It has a hippy-ish vibe, set below some very tall eucalyptus trees. Dinner at Citrine was excellent!! Breakfast and coffees as the Olinda Cafe, also good. We stayed at and enjoyed The Loft in the Mill, which was what brought us to Olinda in the first place. The Kokoda Track memorial walk was a great workout with an interesting and noteworthy memorial story attached to it.

If you want to escape the life of the city or sea Olinda and...

If you want to escape the life of the city or sea Olinda and surrounding is the place to go. It is quite, humble and just the kind of escape you need. If you travel to Olinda please check out the Only Ripe. It is a little cafe type place but has Belgian chocolate. Lovely people there. And do travel to Sassafras as well because the main streety is full of lovely things to browse through and you will find little knicks and knacks you wont find anywhere else.

The Dandenongs region centered around Olinda is a truly magical experience for rest, walking through gardens and forest, shopping for gifts and home, the food experiences are fabulous and it very easy to reach from Melbourne.

We had a beautiful stay at Forest Cottage — peaceful, cozy, and everything we needed. Jessica was a lovely and attentive host. The breakfast supplies were generous, the bed incredibly comfy, and we loved the fireplace (with all firewood provided!). The area around the cottage offers plenty of options for hiking, cycling, scenic lookouts, and reconnecting with nature. Everything was clean, well maintained, and full of thoughtful details — from a delicious house-made liqueur to a well-stocked minibar. We would absolutely come back!

Olinda is a lovely place to stay or visit.

Olinda is a lovely place to stay or visit. My husband and I had dinner at King Henry’s Restaurant which was close by and had a lovely family lunch at The Pig & Whistle Tavern which was also very close to our accommodation. Also close to The Botanic Gardens and SkyHigh restaurant and lookout. Fabulous.

Excellent supply of breakfast items already in room including if you like a cooked breakfast e.g. eggs, bacon, orange juices, containers of fruit in juices. Large comfortable bed and large spacious bathroom with shower and bathtub. Lovely region with a wide variety of shops and close to Tessellar Garden festival in Monbulk which was the main reason for my visit and I chose to stay in Olinda.

Love the closeness to Olinda village while still feeling like I’m in the forest. It’s a short walk either way to Olinda village and the other part of Olinda. It’s very cosy with the wood fire and the owners are very generous with breakfast provisions. This is my second stay with Como Cottages and I’ll likely stay again in the future on my next trip to Melbourne.

Beds were so comfortable. Tv in loungeroom was a great size. Wifi was good. Spa was so fun with a view of the forest. A cute complimentary of Port given. Barbecue there. 5 minute walk to botanical gardens. Close to town. Very cute private cottages there. Great place with Great memories we have. Will be back very soon. 😃
