It's right smack in the center of town. Quaint, lovely bar downstairs with big spacious rooms upstairs. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the beer was great! I especially loved the sours and the chocolate ale. Bar closes at a certain time, but the staff let us stay abit later, keeping the back door open for us to go up to our rooms. Bathrooms were heated and huge, and the showers had good strong water pressure. Good wifi too.

Amazing country house with old Colonial vibes. We felt like we were transported back in time to one of those Bridgerton houses. The hosts are such lovely people, we had the best time getting to know them and their pets (Bodie, Charlie and Muddy waters). It was such a relaxing holiday and we highly recommend this place!

Room was very large and extremely cozy. Air conditioner was on on our arrival which was great because it was hot day. There is gas heater in the room as well if you feel cold. Jacuzzi in the room was exceptionally clean and worked well. The view from the room healed my sored eyes used to city views.

Woodend has the perfect country feel while still providing all the conveniences, such as wonderful eateries and a supermarket. One of the great benefits is the near proximity to Melbourne, making a short getaway justified.

Woodend is a lovely little Victorian country town.

Woodend is a lovely little Victorian country town. It's a great place to base yourself and visit other neighboring towns. There are lots of restaurants and food outlets. You have to try a vanilla slice at the local bakery-delicious!

The Dickens was conveniently located, within walking distance to all services in town. It was clean, and provided no fuss , very comfortable accommodation. Perfect if you’re just looking for a place to sleep.

It was great place to stay clean and great host Tani.

It was great place to stay clean and great host Tani. Loved Muddy gave us tour around her pond and interacted with us with a great show. Hens was a perfect country style setting. It was a peaceful tranquility setting perfect for our anniversary getaway.

A great place to stay for a visit to the Victorian...

A great place to stay for a visit to the Victorian goldfields area; easy access to all towns in the area and a pleasant town. Some very good dining venues with reasonable prices and some old world charm.

The location was fantastic you could access from both sides...

The location was fantastic you could access from both sides of location, easy access to motorway, it was great to wake up in the morning to total silence not hearing cars, lorries etc. The beds were superb and the cleanliness of the room was well above board. If you are looking for some peace and quiet I'd highly recommended staying here.
