So cozy and welcoming. The rooms were elegantly remodeled, the bed, linen and pillows were more than comfortable. Even the towels were so luxurious! But most of all we enjoyed meeting and chatting with the sweet family that runs it, especially Matilda!

I had a wonderful stay at the Laurels Retreat! The accommodation is divine - immaculately clean, incredibly comfortable, perfectly proportioned, well-located. Furthermore, the kitchenette is really well equipped (more than the listing lets on!). Plus, the host, Kate, is the tops-- friendly, available, super helpful, but with the utmost respect for her guests' privacy. It was a home away from home. I can't recommend this place enough and hope I have the opportunity to return!

Although I booked the Poddy, the owners kindly upgraded me to the Nook, which is on the same site. The Nook proved to be excellent for my purpose, which was to write. The outside temperature dropped to freezing towards the end of my stay, but the Nook remained warm and cosy. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the owners kindly provided a bottle of wine.

Avebury Life is a great location for visiting the Avebury Stone Circle as it is a short walk into town. The countryside is very peaceful. Antoinette makes a very excellent breakfast. She also helped me to get on the next part of my journey

In my opinion, its the most magical stone circle place in England. Very accessible, where you can go and walk and sit amongst the stones. On our stay it was also crop circle season, adding extra magic.

We had visited Avebury many years ago so we decided to see it again. There is now a remote car park where you have to pay for parking (I never mind doing that), but with coins. Who carries coins? Especially not tourists. It is possible to pay with a card but you have to walk into town to do so. It was hot and we just couldn't be bothered. The site is well worth a visit if you have not seen the stone circle, at least you can get right up to them.

I have travelled thru Avebury for years mainly in Summer at camp sites, I got to know many people and a few Druids, the Energy has changed they told me but now the river Kennet has been restored the spring is back and Silbury Hill is surrounded by water as it once was during neolithic times, as a visitor this is important as is costs, Avebury is a jewel and an expensive one, yet I can not keep away.

Lots to see, site was wonderful, impressive stones, friendly locals, nice shops for souvenirs. Within easy walking distance of Silbury hill and West Kennet Long barrow. If you like ancient history this is feast. I think that it is better than Stonehenge.
