This hotel is set in an amazing location with fantastic views of Loch Lomond. The staff were all friendly and efficient. The service and food in the evening restaurant and in the breakfast room were also excellent. Our room was absolutely spotless but quite small, fine for a short stay but would be more challenging if staying for longer. The room had no view which as we were just staying for one night wasnt an issue but would have been disappointing if staying for longer. However, I would stay again if in the area.

We were driving back from Fort William and had planned on...

We were driving back from Fort William and had planned on stopping at Luss. Well it was a madhouse there so we continued on down the road. So glad we found Balloch! What a cute little town and a beautiful park with castle and many walking trails.

Good base for exploring the Loch Lomond area.

Good base for exploring the Loch Lomond area. Sails on the loch are worth a trip. Duck Bay restaurant very good and Cameron House is worth a visit even just to walk around the grounds. Loch Lomond Shores also worth a visit and its easy to visit Glasgow from Balloch.

Loch Lomond is very pretty and very relaxed.

Loch Lomond is very pretty and very relaxed. Around the south part of Loch Lomond it is relatively easy to walk between places. Loch Lomond Shores provides shopping and some eateries, the Sealife Centre and the Bird of Prey Centre, and also access to some boat cruises on the loch and around the islands. There is also a Go Wild and a nature trail. The cafe in the Frasers department store is nice with lots of choice of cakes and sandwiches. The restaurant at Duck Bay is excellent, again with lots of choice and a lovely view over the loch. There are lots of places to visit around the area, such as the RSPB reserve, The Hill House, gardens and of course lots of castles.

Despite our hotel experience being a bit iffy I absolutely loved balloch. Perfect place to stay if you love long walks or hikes. Has plenty of places to eat and is very well connected by bus or train to other areas around the loch or nearer Glasgow. Favourite experience was getting the bus up to luss and going on a gorgeous (albeit muddy) hike.

The views are breathtaking,plenty restaurants and if you decide just a fish and chips by the water balloch is the place for you.we visited luss and firkin point great couple days which we really enjoyed

We had a headache at the airport picking up cars, but the hotel staff was very helpful when we arrived VERY late, and it made the different. The room was well proportioned, clean and ventilated. We were a group of six sharing, but we did not feel too crammed in, and with 2 bathrooms in the room all felt well treated. Great location with a pub across the road, Coop a short 5 minute walk away, and right near the Loch. Easy to get to, and easy to travel from. Balloch was clean and non threatening. Very pleasant. Breakfast was lovely.

My mom and I stayed at Gowanlea Guest House and had a truly special stay. Andrea warmly welcomed us and was a warm, engaging, and thoughtful host throughout our visit. We had an adorable, clean, and very comfortable room, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Breakfast was delicious! And we were just a 10 minute walk from the Balloch train station, restaurants and shops, and hiking. I highly recommend Gowanlea to anyone visiting the area!

The decor and the service are excellent. It’s a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Plenty of walking opportunities. The spa - a short drive away - is outstanding. Breakfast buffet one of the best and our experience at Cameron Grill was positive.
