Charming stopover to Glasgow with lovely hosts. The place is a gem hidden away in beautiful grounds and garden. Very pretty.The room is compact but of a high standard with thoughtful touches. Shower nice size and modern. Bed comfy. Private accomodation in the garden.Lovely pub 'The Crown' with an extensive menu, better than your average pub grub! We love it here and would stop again en route to the City.

We absolutely loved our stay at this quaint and beautifully decorated home! It was perfectly situated between Edinburgh and Glasgow, making it an ideal base for exploring both cities while enjoying the charm and quiet of a lovely little town. The house itself had everything we could possibly need — from a well-equipped kitchen to thoughtful extras like books, games, and entertainment options that made our downtime relaxing and fun. Every room was tastefully decorated with a cozy, welcoming feel that made us feel right at home. The town was adorable with plenty of character, and we appreciated the peaceful atmosphere after busy days of sightseeing. This is truly a wonderful find — comfortable, convenient, and full of charm. We’d happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

There is nothing in Carstairs except this Inn and a shop and as Scotland is zero tolerance then going out without having a drink on holiday is not ideal. Plenty to do outside with Motherwell, Wishaw and Lanark close by

This was a business trip, and I do not know if the room was changed or not, but if your trip means an early rise it is not recommended. If you have a pub underneath a room, noise has to happen, but otherwise it was very comfortable.

We stayed in order to travel to Edinburgh and back for the Fringe. Carstairs seemed nice enough, but we didn't spend long exploring it. It was nicely centrally located for Glasgow or Edinburgh though, with a shorter trip back to England.

Real value for money and met all our requirements.

Real value for money and met all our requirements. Helpful friendly staff and owners. Lovely breakfast. Sadly no restaurant for evening meal, and nothing within the vacinity as situated in a village. Next time we may look for a restaurant in the area.
