Loved this Inn in the picturesque village of Evercreech. The Inn has been renovated since the pandemic; very well done, immaculate. Wonderful staff, we stayed here because it’s a short drive to Wookey Hole. Best decision ever. Good food, great value. Would recommend anyone to stay here.

Castle Cary is a lovely small town, great for travelling around, train station 25 mins from the town, I went to Glastonbury for the day, and took a train into Bath spa. Lovely people, lovely weather. Great for solo travellers. Food was great in The George, and the fish and chip shop is worth a visit.

Castle Cary is a great atractive town with a quaint museum and great to stroll around with character. Apart from pubs there was a lack of restaurants, so we ate elsewhere. We are not a young couple (74 & 73) and we walked around the town several times.

I like its oldness; I like the fact that all the bulls in the field behind The George hotel have their names on an ear tabs; I like the view of the Tor from the Ledge and I love the generosity of spirit which has created the Moat Garden. Castle Cary station, newly renovated, is a wonder.

Castle Carey, is a friendly village which is ideally situated for visits to National Trust properties and gardens such as Stourhead. It is on the doorstep of The Newt, a quality hotel and garden experience and the Hauser and Worth gallery near the village of Bruton.

Lovely quaint Somerset town with good shops for size of town. Parking not good though as limited to 2 hrs Mon-Sat 8am-6pm unless you want to walk from a car park 10 mins away. Even then not a 24 hr parking.

Hewletts Mill is a superb B&B. The property is amazing and it’s set in an immaculate garden surrounded by the River Cam. The hosts, Cindy & Guy, were extremely pleasant but not overbearing and clearly have a good eye for interior design. We had previously stayed in the fabulous but very pricey Newt Hotel which is nearby, however in finding Hewletts Mill we discovered our own mini Newt!

Location was excellent for the Haynes Motor Museum (main purpose for our visit) but Castle Cary turned out to be a beautiful place too 🥰. Hosts were fabulous and so welcoming & friendly, and Willow was lovely too! As for the legendary Coffee & Scrambled eggs - all the reviews were true. The complete breakfast spread was awesome too - thank you Melanie & Martin!

Absolute gem! House was beautifully presented and super clean. Chris responded really quickly to my questions and could even give recommendations outside of Castle Cary for things to do. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or at another of Chris’ other properties.
