When I arrived, check-in was quick and easy. I dropped off my belongings and went out for the evening, so I don't know about the dinner, but I know it was served. When I got back at 12:30 AM, the staff members who were still up were very helpful and friendly. As someone who often travels alone, it was nice to experience a community vibe. The bathroom was clean, and the Wi-Fi worked properly the whole time without buffering and with an easy login process. Additionally, there was a fridge in my room, which was extra helpful. In the morning, the staff were very accommodating and attentive to my dietary needs, and the breakfast buffet was beautifully arranged. I even had a bit of fun playing the piano during breakfast!

There was nothing to dislike about Crabbers Wharf. It was just beautiful located, clean, perfect in every way. Even when I broke a plate and told the lady at the reception in the Information Centre, her reaction was to ask me if we still had enough! Just lovely.

Our stay at Petralia was lovely. Everything was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the location was good. A little outside the town but we found a good hike with a beach nearby which made up for it. It's important to note that you will be staying with the hosts. This was something that we didn't know until we got there, but it didn't affect the quality of our stay and we had a very nice dinner with them in the evening for a reasonable price.

Portland is a hidden gem, my daughter said she wanted to move there after the first day. Lovely little village like feel to the town, has a great array of takeaways, pubs and shops and the views are amazing. we travelled in and out a few times, visited Portland Bill Lighthouse - great place for the kids to let off steam, and the beach at Weymouth was outstanding

Spontaneous trip ended up being wonderful and pleasant.

Spontaneous trip ended up being wonderful and pleasant. Portland in my opinion is way much better than Weymouth for scenery/views and it is more quiet (in a good way). Went everywhere on the island with bus trips and you want to take it all in, the cliffs, the seaview, the sunset (glorious if you are lucky to catch it).

Being by the sea, is my happy place. Portland/Weymouth, holds a very special place in my Husband and my life. Whenever we come to the UK we try to get down to Portland to visit family. Highly recommend Crabbers Whalf as a place to stay. Right on the waters edge. So peaceful and scenic.

Portland is a lovely location set a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of Weymouth. There is plenty to do and see in and around Portland, although it is easier to do these things eg; Portland Bill when you have access to your own transport. We absolutely would recommend dining at Crab House Cafe which is set near the end of the causeway before reaching Weymouth itself, and there is a quirky place called White Stones Gallery and Cafe in Easton, which has lots of local art on display amidst the tables customers eat at. There is also a fantastic area outside. Lovely garden with more artwork and tables spread about outside. We also dined as non residents at the Portland Heights Hotel which is another good dining experience with the added delight weather permitting of watching the sun setting, and of the wonderful view of Chesil Beach in its full glory.

Portland is great for a weekend of walking as the paths round the island are well signposted and very scenic. The Art cafe in Easton was great with delicious cakes and a secret garden. We walked back into Weymouth along the old railway line, which is recommended.

So the marina area is very nice.

So the marina area is very nice. You have lots of paddle board and kayak activity from leisure centre and beach next to the castle. The pub life around the area is okay if you like that sort of thing. I liked the beehive bakery for bread in unit 3. Also they have a cafe and the price is just right. Went to Portland Bill - had salmon at the Lobster Pot. Walked around the stoney cliffs. A great place to experience
