This is the second time we have stayed at the Fighting Cocks this year and it again lived up to our expectations. A great New Forest location for walking the dog (be aware of the donkeys/horses and livestock that roam around the Inn). Good Food from the varied menu is served in the Restaurant/Bar Area and the outside terrace. Lovely Room and all the staff we met were friendly,helpful and welcoming particularly the manageress. Exceptional Breakfast.

Excellent location, we did everything by foot. Supermarket, restaurants, everything was close by, so that was great. The house itself had everything we needed and was really clean. The tv even had Netflix, which was a very nice surprise.

It is a really pleasant small town.

It is a really pleasant small town. The locals are very friendly and it is well situated to visit the New Forest. There is a good range of small shops - the nearby butcher is particularly recommended. A budget supermarket isn't too far away in Ringwood (7 miles). As for the New Forest itself, it is a stunning location - ideal for pleasant drives and walks. The nearby tea room at Braemor House is highly recommended.

Lovely place with great food, clean comfortable rooms. We had one with a hot tub which was private and secluded. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Really lovely stay. Can imagine it gets really busy in the summer but I intend to go back again.

It was disappointing to be told that the hot tub was out of use on arrival.Even more disappointing not to get the promised refund. A good time was had overall.General maintenance of cabin exterior needed.Small omissions inside too... no chopping board nor bathmat which was not anticipated .

I was looking for somewhere to stay for 1 night with a...

I was looking for somewhere to stay for 1 night with a reactive dog as I was attending a canine workshop close by. This accommodation was easy to book, great value, comfortable and immaculate. An outside area for sole use with table and chairs to enjoy the sunset and a morning coffee with the pooch. Would highly recommend.

Quiet town 11 miles from Salisbury, and in the New Forest...

Quiet town 11 miles from Salisbury, and in the New Forest but with all the local amenities required, eg pharmacy, Tesco express, pubs, garage. Seemed to be popular with hikers so I'm guessing plenty of walks and trails nearby. The George pub is right on the river by the bridge and serves great food. We ate there twice, within easy walking distance from our B&B

Easy access to the forest walks Fordingbridge was were our first walk started . Then over to hilliars gardens near Romsey so easy access to forest . The compasses Inn was for the Gurka Menu which is so worth a go all worked very well

We loved the location and so delighted we found Little Acres a little gem. Bev and Rob were delightful and nothing was too much trouble, lovely ceam tea on arrival and milk in the fridge. . Easy walk to Fordingbridge and a bus stop near by if needed. Stunning countryside , peaceful and a joy to just sit and take in nature at its best. Lovely pub within easy walk across the fields. Already planning to go back in September.

I took my 89 year old mother to visit my family who live down there. My mother is in a wheelchair but can walk. This hotel was ideal for her including the bathroom. My mother was able to have her breakfast in the room at the table and chairs that were there. The other good thing about the room is there was a cupboard that held a fridge microwave kettle and tea facilities. It also held two plates and knives and forks

Loved the whole atmosphere and how the room was a unit to the back of the hotel. It is just such a beautiful peaceful area, i feel that you cannot help but love it. Felt so relaxed and the breakfast was lovely.
