We travelled to Derbyshire to visit chatworth house and booked at the hotel very last minute. We was very impressed with how we were welcomed on our arrival by very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was spacious and we were provided with a free bottle of beer and Prosecco which was a nice surprise. We also didn’t expect to receive a free packed lunch to take with us even though we only stayed for one night.

All the staff were really lovely and I can’t speak highly enough about them! Overall the room was nice and clean. Location wise I thought this place was perfect. About 20 mins by car to Mam Tor / Winnats Pass & Castleton and about 25 mins the other way to Bakewell. In terms of Buxton town centre, it’s literally just round the corner for all the main shops, eateries & the Buxton Crescent Spa too (about 5 mins walk).

Staff were friendly and welcoming. The suite was spacious with very comfortable beds and pillows. Great location. Lovely bathroom with ample bath towels and our room had views to The Opera House. Nice full breakfast.

Longnor is a lovely village.

Longnor is a lovely village. The local pub is friendly with great food, however, ensure you book, or you may be disappointed as food may not be available. The village has a cafe and a shop, so all the local amenities you need. Lovely location, away from the hustle and bustle, but near enough main road to buxton.

The problems started as soon as we got there, it was...

The problems started as soon as we got there, it was advertised suitable for dogs and we paid the extra. However, as soon as we got there we found our pod was too small to accommodate a medium sized dog, she would have to reverse as there was not enough room to turn around. There wasn't enough floor space to put her travelling bed down. We arrived early evening and it was very windy and cold therefore sitting outside wasn't an option. After a terrible first night when got up to rain and wind just decided we couldn't stay any longer

Beautiful village close to Buxton and 15-20 min drive from a huge range of attractions. Perfect location for exploring the Peak District. Looks quiet and sleepy but has (almost) everything including post office, confectioner, café, pub serving excellent food.

Longnor was super easy to get around and everything like the...

Longnor was super easy to get around and everything like the supermarket are very easy to get to. We didn't really eat out on this trip because we decided to cook our own meals, which is why I really appreciate the fully equipped kitchen that Carder Cottage provided.

Fantastic place, clear ethical values throughout the whole place. Small touches to make you feel welcome, nothing too much trouble. Amazing breakfast. We were guided to great places to eat a short journey away by car. So many delightful walks to enjoy, with Jonathan's expert.hand. Made so welcome by Jane, Jonathan and Freddie, wish we had stayed longer.
