The Crown is a lovely property with on site parking which is wonderful. Our room was clean, well presented and very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the very best we enjoyed during our month long journey around the UK. We booked evening dinner and enjoyed it very much. The morning wait staff were a staff highlight….friendly, knowledgeable about the area and so very welcoming.

Ideally located with rooms overlooking the sea, Rebecca, Steve and Josh welcome you as their personal guests. They have a beautifully appointed sitting area, a separate room for muddy boots and a spacious dining area with an “honesty” bar. The room we stayed at was very nice.

Nice walks around the area.

Nice walks around the area. Though walking from Lynton to Lynmouth very steep. Cliff railway came in handy. Beach very clean and tidy. A couple of events going on on the beach. Other places in easy reach by car. Arlington House NT worth a visit and also Dunster Castel and day can be spent at both. Steam Train ride at Woody Bay.

Lynton is a lovely place to stay, lots of walks, some buses during the day to get you to other places nearby, best to have a car but without one there are still options, esp. in Summer season, e.g. Coaster bus to Minehead or Ilfracombe

Small town with two locations separated by a very steep hill. Only able to get between the two by car/bus or the cliff railway which was 3.90 each way. The lower part of the town had tea rooms and pubs. The upper part had a limited number of both.

Lynton is a charming place to stroll around and visit the many individual shops. There are lots of places to eat and drink, however, disappointingly no butchers or bakery or grocers that we found selling good quality food to take away . Great views over the cliffs to the sea and moor . We enjoyed our steep descent to Lynmouth and the train ride back was very welcome! Lynton candles have a great selection of handmade candles at very reasonable prices, delicious fudge and friendly service from The Studio.

Have visited Lynton for many years.

Have visited Lynton for many years. I never tire of appreciating the beauty of Lynton and Lynmouth and visiting and supporting the many varied shops and restaurants. I particularly love the Green Room restaurant and Arts and Crafts in the former church. Finally, a must for myself is the spectacular circular walk via the Valley of Rocks and the magnificent coastal path, passing the wild goats. The Victorian cliff railway connecting the twin towns is a MUST!!

Was booked for 3 nights not knowing it was Steam Punk W/E, which was a bonus. Lots of places to see & things to do, but doe's get chilly early afternoon when the sun drops below Lynton. (Our advice then to visitors is the short drive or walk to the Valley of the Rocks where you get sun until later in the evening.) Also worth the 2 or 3 mile walk up the river to Watersmeet Tea Room for an enjoyable lunch stop.

We had a bumpy start when booking the wonders rest with it being a new comer to booking.com However we managed to sort this and arrived in lynton and found the property in no time. Parking's not brilliant but there are car parks close by and in walking distance. The property itself is a converted cottage similar to the tardis. Lovely living area and adequate kitchen, 2 bedrooms and bathroom. Lynton is a beautiful Devonshire village with cafes, bars and restaurants all close by, including the clifftop railway to Lynmouth!

Hotel in perfect location for exploring both lynmouth and lynton. we preferred being in lynton as lots of great places to eat for evenings. We had the best advice from Rachel - totally knowledgeable and polite nothing was too much trouble. This hotel doesn't have facilities for breakfast etc as advertised but a perfect location for a lovely week. For the price this was fantastic and suited our needs perfectly. Thank you Rachel and staff for a wonderful stay. would definitely be back again!

What a great find in such a beautiful part of the Devon coast. Such a wonderful surprise the towns of Lynton and Lynmouth were. Ness and Phil made it such a wonderful stay. The breakfasts were so delicious and catered for allergies with no issues at all. Thank you.
