It fact it was exceptionally clean the breakfast was served in the conservatory and again it was exceptionally lean all the crockery matched although I asked for a small breakfast I was offered a full English I was very pleased with my breakfast

Nice town with an excellent High Street, an ideal place for exploring other locations. The Golden Lion Hotel has some excellent free live music on Sunday evening, went for a drink. Betty's Tea Room is a great visit. The Northallerton Inn very nice for a drink, and Bianco a great Italian restaurant with good food.

Good pubs, cafes restaurents and some unique shops.
Good pubs, cafes restaurents and some unique shops. Ample parking. We like Barkers, Boyes and raking around the charity shops. Sam Turners is good just beyond the level crossing to the north.
We had a great meal at the Golden Lion and shared some Plum bread from Lewis and Coopers resing on one of the many seats in the central paved area.

The town has a very good High Street, on the Saturday we were there it was Market Day so it was a real bustling environment. Car Parking was initially difficult but in truth once you knew where they were it was OK.

Touched on a little genealogy whilst in Northallerton (my paternal side) and found the North Yorkshire Record Office to be most helpful (had required pre-booked meeting) and was able to finally confirm exactly what pub my 3xgt-grandfather owned - the "Buck Inn" (now modernised and part of Wetherspoons - nice pizza). Visited many shops on the main street, All Saints Church, and the Cemetery - all most interesting. Took the short train ride to York for the day - so handy, as are the Moors & Dales - all beautiful.

There were a few food items provided by the host which were much appreciated, including milk, bagels, butter and crisps. The lodge was very quiet and in a good location for our trip to the area. Richmond and Northallerton were both a short drive away. There were plenty of places to walk in the area. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic very clean apartment with everything in you could possibly need. Quite and in a great location just a short walk into Northallerton. Very modern, fitted out and decorated with a great deal of thought. Sheer class. This is a great alternative to Hotels and B&B's a little home from home.

Lovely hotel in the town centre, large room , comfortable bed , good breakfast at the sister hotel, Golden Lion, 50 yards away. The only criticism is no heating or heated towel rail in the bathroom so pretty cold in there but wouldn't put us off from staying there again

This hotel is a good place to stay. It's in the centre of the town, reasonably priced and the staff are friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious and have everything you need. The breakfast was also nice. Would stay here again.
