Being formally a Port Talbot girl, I have a very different...

Being formally a Port Talbot girl, I have a very different view of Port Talbot to my daughters. They thought it was ugly and I can see why.... The beachfront is great & has everything you need, including play parks, water play area, wide cycle path, long promenade and places to eat & get ice cream. However, Port Talbot was built around the Steel works, so the housing estate (which isn't the prettiest )forms part of the seafront view. The plus part of this is that the beach isn't as busy as other touristy towns. Port Talbot is surrounded by mountains and there are many beautiful treks through forests and mountain paths and lots of beautiful waterfalls and lakes close by. Margam country park is worth a visit too. Port Talbot is a great place to stop after a long motorway journey and the gateway to all the beautiful South Wales beaches.

Turned up to find a fun fair on grass in front of hotel: quite an Industrial feel to the area with loads of council houses and factories - one pub along the front which was a townie pub with no character and no garden only a car park with tables on. Beach was lovely and wide and sandy. Needs more facilities along beach front. Would not return here

A clean warm friendly Hotel. Exceptionally good staff from cleaners to entertainment and nothing to much if you need help. I would definitely recommend. I’m a dancer performer and travelled a long way to Port Talbot and did not know what to expect on arrival but instantly was thrilled. Room was perfect I had costumes and Ostrich feather fans to keep safe and the room had plenty of space to do that. Thank you all at Blanco and I will be back maybe with a bus load of my dancers from home x

Take a bus ride into Port Talbot town, this will take care of most needs with an indoor shopping centre. Plenty of places to eat which caters for all choices. Loads of places around this area if you are into walking and different activities and a grand beach for the kids to play on.

The room was a good size. Location was great.

The room was a good size. Location was great. Parking was helpful. Unfortunately the front house stafs were miserable to deal with. We were woken up very early and asked to leave despite paying for late check-out. He didnt belive and asked us to provide the proof of payment. Imagine if we couldn't find the receipt. Surely there are systems they have in place to check this. It ruined our morning as we planned on having a lie-in. The while point of our late check-out was defeated.

A lovely dog friendly beach.

A lovely dog friendly beach. The walk across the front is lovely and very clean. The local restaurants and cafe's are excellent and value for money. A quiet Midweek break just how i like it. Very good value for money.

Railway station right on your doorstep. Breakfast was small buffet but was great. Bed was comfy and staff very friendly and were all helpful. The choice of food at lunch was excellent. Great value for money aswell. Port Talbot town is lovely wee place with some decent shops and the people were very friendly and chatty.

I have stayed in many properties in Port Talbot and this is one of the best. The facilities were excellent. The hosts were 1st class. It also has a lovely garden which we hope to make use of when we stay in the Summer.

The lodges are in a good location beside a small river adjacent to the forest and national park. The lodges are spacious . They are within walking distance of Port Talbot. Very close to nature walks and trails.
