A perfect relaxing countryside getaway - I hope to visit again someday....Thank you for having me and my dog! Gail & Jonny were very welcoming, and obvie so was their cute Labrador 🤠 The studio was very well equipped, it had everything I needed (microwave, fridge with little freezer compartment, TV etc) and it was very clean and cosy! It had a nice outdoor area for my dog too which was perfect. The location is so beautiful ....with lovely walks and places to explore nearby. Thank you very much!

Lovely venue in a very picturesque village. All the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The pub had a real community feel. The breakfasts and the food in the pub were very much enjoyed. The rooms were very comfortable and it was really quiet overnight with only birdsong to wake you up in the morning!

Delightful small English town.

Delightful small English town. Not a lot to see and do but what is here is historically valuable and well presented. A wonderful place to relax, enjoy a good meal with an excellent pint of beer, and in friendly company.

Small town in North Dorset close to the Wiltshire border, perfect location to explore both counties. Shaftesbury is a Saxon town with an arts centre, museum and Abbey. On the high street you will find independent shops and eateries.

A lovely village with some interesting history.

A lovely village with some interesting history. The museum was good with helpful staff. We visited the infamous Gold Hill, where the 1973 Hovis advert was filmed. Found a great little coffee shop opposite the town hall.

Lovely town to explore.

Lovely town to explore. Gold Hill the main attraction but the streets at the bottom of the hill have lots of character and some thatched properties..We found a lovely millennium garden and a some interesting shops. Not so much to do on a rainy day around the area this time of year as the NT properties are not open yet so suggest visiting March onwards.

Beautiful old town, cobbled streets, amazing views.

Beautiful old town, cobbled streets, amazing views. Gold Hill has to be seen (google Hovis advert) even my 20 year old was impressed. We had a wonderful breakfast at King Alfred’s Kitchen instead of eating at our hotel. We stayed at Grosvenor Arms Hotel, very central, no parking if you at staying but car parks are available. I live close to Arundel in West Sussex and it reminded me of the medieval history. Nice people, nice views, beautiful place to have a weekend away.

Central and convenient, the gates to the property being from the High Street of Shaftesbury. Still it is peaceful, as the property is at the rear. Fabulous terrace and view, also with a garden. Tastefully furnished, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Friendly and helpful hosts who one can contact directly. We found it more convenient to park in a nearby car park, although it is possible to park a small car but could be difficult during busy times of the day from the High Street.

The room was clean and tidy and quite big enough. The bed was comfortable, and we both slept very well. The gardens around the hotel were nice. The bathroom was small but adequate. The swimming pool was good, with a sauna too. The sauna was small but adequate and hot enough! The were plenty of parking spaces around the hotel. The breakfast was fine and just enough of each item, except mushrooms, but then we love lots of mushrooms!
