The location was perfect for starting our Coast to Coast walk. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very good and reasonably priced. We had a family room which was very large and comfortable.

Everything about my stay has been exceptional. The property is wonderful, the hosts providing a real home-from-home experience; the attention to detail, cleanliness, quality of absolutely everything, comfort, communication and information are all outstanding, with everything a visitor could possibly need provided. And then there's the welcome hamper, which deserves a special mention of its own: Not only a lovely touch, it was amazing! And a godsend for me, since the days I stayed were also the days the village food-serving pub is shut, and not knowing the area, I did not feel confident to drive into Whitehaven looking for provisions. So, except for a sandwich at the Beech Road Bakehouse (St. Bees, and well worth a visit), which I walked to, I lived entirely on the contents of the hamper and a few nibbles I took with me from home, not by intention but it was reassuring to know there was sustenance at 'home' if I didn't come across anywhere to stop at while out walking, which, as it happened, I didn't. Talking of walking, while some of the walking I did was along narrow lanes, the traffic wasn't heavy and the drivers were careful and courteous; I felt safe. And when I wasn't sure where I was going, the people I asked went out of their way to help me, from looking things up on their phones, giving me directions, suggesting buses (note, there isn't a bus that runs through the village) and taxis, warning me of landslip paths; honestly, the local people couldn't have been kinder, which as a female solo traveller means so much. But back to the property and Sandwith: If you're looking for a quiet base in a pretty village midway between Whitehaven and St. Bees (both within walking distance; around 2 to 3 miles), and not far from Ennerdale, Wastwater and Muncaster, then you can't go wrong here, in this beautifully appointed, cosy apartment. Highly recommended.

Even with the 2 caravan parks very close by, the pretty bay was open and offered a good sandy beach when the tide was out. Shallow for children and grassy well equipped play areas. Good cafe for meals cakes ect during the day . Ice cream and coffee only after 4 pm. The small village had two pubs/hotels , no proper parking but it was only a pleasant and safe 5-10 min walk from the bay carpark. Found a circular walking route from the bay through to the village ,taking a lane down to the beach then walking along the beach back to the bay. So dog friendly too. Seacote hotel bar had a good beer garden and bar with meals for all.

St. Bees is a very small village with one shop and a couple of pubs, both serving food. The pebbled beach is half a mile from the village and the sea is very inviting and swimming is safe. There is a hotel/pub and a cafe at the beach both of which were very pleasant.

Ambling around , walking about St Bees is a joy. There is no rushing here. There is yourself and an understated (cf Lake District) unique vibe to experience. Well worth a day or two visit and stay longer if you can slow down . Cafe on the beach is a wonderful addition and food is excellent but not expensive.

It was brilliantly equipped for our family of four and our dog. The views of the sea are wonderful. St Bees is lovely. We highly recommend the Manor Inn! The shop has everything you need. The house is cozy, and the garden is a delightful addition to the house. We found everything we needed easily; the house info is very well put together.

Brilliant B&B in an historic converted building at the top of the main street of lovely St Bees. About a 10 minute walk from the station. The host, Will, is delightful and so helpful. His full Cumbrian breakfast is not to be missed. It is so generous it will set you up for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Would definitely stay again!
