One of the best B&B's I've every stayed in. The most welcoming and friendliest hosts with outstanding accommodation. The rooms were comfortable, clean, airy, light and everything you could want (and more) was provided. I welcomed a window you can open (it was a warm August) a fan, a kettle with fresh milk, endless tea/coffee, a decent shower and to top it all the most incredible delicious full cooked breakfast. My teen was impressed with the USB chargers and a good wifi signal! My only regret is not having more time there to explore the gorgeous surroundings and chat more to Mike and Sue.

Great location and great hosts, made us feel right at home and made some Welsh cakes for us which were delicious. Gave us plenty of tips on where to plan our days out. Room was tidy and clean, no issues whatsoever.

What an amazing property. We were greeted with an amazing staff who were not only accommodating but personable. Really liked Kenneth. He made us feel at home. Being a fan of the show the prisoner, it felt otherworldly to be in this setting. Highly, highly recommended. Our room was not ready, so we were moved up to a two bedroom suite that overlooked the courtyard which made our stay so much more enjoyable.

Liam and rachel did a fantastic job making us feel welcome and at home! We loved the view of Harlech castle, the history and vintage feel of the hotel. Our room had space and all items needed. The hotel is not luxurious but has plenty of charm and hard working kind people! We ate a wonderful dinner and breakfast in the hotel and it was delicious and plentiful! We truly enjoyed our visit and the hotel.

I used this fantastic Hotel as a base to explore Snowdonia, the Lyn Penninsula and Anglesey. Talsarnau it's self is very small, near Harlech. I have visited Harlech lots in the past, the castle is well worth a visit. I can also recommend the various vintage railway excursions from Porthmadog and other local stations. Black Rock Sands is only 20mins away by car and through amazing countryside. If you are staying at Maes Y Neuadd then you will need a car or bikes unless you just want a beautiful setting to relax and enjoy local walks. It is quiet remote. Talsarnau is a great base from which to travel around North Wales.

The village has very little facilities, there is no local shop, Pub at the end of the village is both expensive and we was underwhelmed with the warmth of greeting and service, "Local pub for local people" ! pavement outside of properties is either missing or very narrow and road can be busy at times so beware especially when leading young children, Better off going into Porthmadog for anything other than a packet of crisps and a grunt from the bar staff. As a bonus Estuary motel is very nice, but for entertainment or food in the village drive elsewhere. A nice amount of scenery is the other bonus in an otherwise charmless village.

Wonderful hospitality from Mike and Sue, I couldn't have been more comfortable, I felt very much at home and will definitely be back. I will most likely book a longer stay when the weather is a bit warmer, this was for business.

This is a tiny place that has a great pub at its heart.

This is a tiny place that has a great pub at its heart. We saw a live band there and spoke to people from the area. Everyone was very welcoming. I would recommend visiting this little slice of Wales and spending time walking in the area and eating at the local pub. From the cottage we were staying in, it was a few minutes walk to access the local beach - perfect for taking the dogs to. If you wander down there in the early evening, you’ll see bats.

Although we didn’t find a lot to do in Talsarnau itself, returning to the Estuary Lodge after our days out was bliss. The local pub serves delicious food(check which days they are open) and there is a fabulous walk along the estuary, starting right from the door of the Estuary Lodge. Talsarnau is perfectly placed for visiting Portmeirion,Barmouth and other interesting places, with a host of different restaurants to choose from.We ate at :- Yr Hen Fecws Ship Aground pub The Grapes and were really happy with all of them. Donna was exceptionally friendly and helpful,(even before we got there) always on hand to answer questions and give advice to enhance our stay. She and Sylvia offered useful tips at breakfast time (-:

THE MOST IMPORTANT requirement of any hotel or guest house is quietness. It’s the reason why we hate hotels and prefer a self contained form of accommodation . The location of this property was set back from the main road and we couldn’t hear a thing - simply bliss . Although compact it had everything we needed including Wi-Fi and Netflix. Bed was comfy and shower good - boxes ticked. Log fire was very cozy, sure it’s an older property but we loved its charm.

Excellent breakfast cooked by the ever cheery Donna and her crew. Loved everything about our stay from the thickest towels I have ever had in a hotel to the scrumptious breakfast everything was spot on and the joy of parking right in front of your accommodation is undeniable. Thanks Donna we will be back. Oh and the pub at the top of the road does a really good gammon....
