A fabulous small town/village feel with great independent local shops and restaurants as well as some chains. The weather was better than being abroad, which makes a huge difference. The bays around Mumbles are great - recommend Oxwich Bay.

Swansea bay has a 5 mile foot and cycle path running from Swansea marine to the mumbles pier.plenty of benches along the way. A good choice of shops in Swansea and also Ottermouth several pubs, coffee shops and restaurants there are loads of very nice bays with great beaches, however not all are accessible by car and if they are expect to pay a lot for your parking

The Mumbles is a gem.

The Mumbles is a gem. If you have not visited yet, put it at the top of your list. Essentially it is the riviera of South Wales. The Mumbles comprise 5 or six villages that run into each other. Oystermouth is central and the axis not only to the pier and lighthouse at the end of the bay (Mumbles Point), and access to the Gower Peninsula with a whole range of beautiful bays, cliff walks and unspoilt villages. Eateries are everywhere, shops carry everything from designer clothes to buckets and spades, and the people are delightful.

A lovely promenade to walk on, the beach was stony where we were but sandy further up the coast. Great for shells and rock pools. Lots of nice eating places, good choice of churches Sunday morning or shops if you prefer. There's a ruined castle to see, and nice walks to see the light house and big wheel. Very dog friendly if that matters to you.

Great places to eat, lovely beaches within walking distance, good shops, pub (The Victoria) and being able to get to stunning Gower beaches easily. Mumbles has a lovely vibe & we particularly enjoyed walking along the seafront & visiting Oystermouth Castle. Need to be know in advance about which beaches are dog-friendly.

Quality appliances in kitchen & bedrooms. Water hot on demand and pressure very good. Location excellent, midway to pier and town centre. Location excellent for Gower peninsular (15-30 minute drive depending where going) and 1 hour drive to Brecons. Bus almost right outside the doorstep that regularly services Swansea, local park for smaller children across the road and larger park, splash park and skatepark about 1 mile along the promenade. Ideal for family with younger children, or for couples

Lovely cosy cottage really close to amenities. Loved the clear instructions for everything, the ample cleaning products and cloths (always a bug bear of mine if you can’t clean up the property after yourself easily). Very warm and easy to relax in. Really well equipped kitchen for longer stays. Would suit up to 4 for a holiday location. Close the the sea. Great access to the Gower peninsula. Very dog friendly with a bed and treats provided.
