The stay was perfect for exactly what we were searching for- escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, starry nights, middle-of-nowhere location at the countryside, cows mooing and goats bleating at a distance, a barbecue prepared on open air and a relaxing hot tub sesh! The property has provided all the above and more - I highly appreciated a fully stuffed kitchen with all the small and not-so-small items one might need for a bbq or dinner. A coffee machine with capsules was greatly appreciated in the morning as well ;) The apartment is located in the rebuilt barn and definitely carries that countryside charm. It can easily accommodate two couples or a family of four as there are two full sized bedrooms with en-suites.

We were visiting family living in the area.

We were visiting family living in the area. Our overall impression of Trowbridge was that there is a lot of house building and road works going on around the area. The town centre has, like the rest of the country, been affected by the country's financial crisis. However, the surrounding countryside and villages are pretty. Lots to visit and see in the area.

Fieldways is an Edwardian mansion with most of the beautiful original features and some furniture still intact. The person responsible for it was William Richard Brown - a man of means and local renown - who funded the lovely town hall in Trowbridge. Fieldways has a wonderful old world ambience, clean, comfortable rooms with many of the communal areas under used and large parts of the building, not used at all, which is a shame. Do go to see it and enjoy a peaceful stay there before some shark developers grab and destroy the beauty of it forever as they always do. Oh forgot to mention the swimming pool and gym, all under used.

I only stayed in Trowbrige as I was booked into Southwest...

I only stayed in Trowbrige as I was booked into Southwest Rustproofing. I do not recomend Trowbridge or staying here for a long holiday. Good for 1 or 2 nights if you are on a budget. A bit small for 2 but could be done

Really great guided tour of Parade House and the Georgian...

Really great guided tour of Parade House and the Georgian architecture around the town. Very interesting museum, lovely Christmas Tree display in St James's church. #1 Coffee shop was very nice too. However, there are very few places to stay or eat dinner - it's clearly a town that is struggling.

Sorry, I didn't see much of Trowbridge as I was going to a...

Sorry, I didn't see much of Trowbridge as I was going to a wedding at Faulkland... However, getting through traffic in Trowbridge was not easy, either on Friday pm or Saturday morning! I guess traffic issues are not unusual though, so it would have been nice to have had time to explore the old town on foot - maybe next time!

It's a lovely old building and a shame it is now a B&B instead of a full blown hotel, Sue is a treasure, a great ambassador for the B&B, she couln't have been more friendly or helpful. Our room was clean and cosy,had everything we needed and we had the best breakfast we've had in a long time. We will be back to Trowbridge and wouldn't hesitate to stay at Fieldways again. Certainly value for money.

Such a beautiful property. Perfect location. Trowbridge had enough to keep us entertained in between our adventures to Longleat & Christmas shopping in Bath. The communication in advance was perfect and the parking & curry house recommendations were spot on. This is an extremely high end property and we can’t wait to go back!

This treasure of accommodation in central Trowbridge is situated in a road island. Once entered, it is full of trees and you immediately feel you are in a remote countryside. 😂 A real surprise. The studio is a walk through a gravel arch walked garden with solar lights. Feels surreal. Beautiful kept garden too.

Modern and clean apartment on the ground floor. Very good parking on site and good location, an easy walk into Trowbridge. This could have been a 10* but silly things let it down. Easily rectifiable if the Hoste is interested.
