The place was quaint, and ideal for somewhere to stay for a few days. It has everything you need for a comfortable getaway. We would return, no problem. Already we are telling our friends about the location and how we enjoyed our stay. It was very clean, and had everything we needed.

Walton is a small traditional British seaside resort.

Walton is a small traditional British seaside resort. It is not especially "edgy" in terms of food, shops or entertainment, but there is a friendly traditional community vibe. There is a wonderful (good weather) walk around a beautiful nature reserve. Perfect for nature lovers or those just seeking peace and tranquility.

Sandy beaches, good for dogs or strolling along the prom.

Sandy beaches, good for dogs or strolling along the prom. Lots of beach huts. Small high street with nice restaurants and sea shanty shops. Good bus service to the Naze Tower, Clacton, Frinton & Holland on Sea. Pier with bowling & cafe.

We actually spent some time in Frinton on sea for the beach days as it’s quieter. Walton tower was lovely and collecting shells on the beach. The arcade amused the kids for a while on a rainy day. The local swimming pool has a slide which my daughter enjoys.

Pier has been refurbished recently, and now has 2 pinball...

Pier has been refurbished recently, and now has 2 pinball machines. It has lost it's charm though. The loss of the the cafe at the top of the road up from the pier has been very disappointing. It used to be one of the main reasons I visited Walton, They used to serve real homemade chips (like mum used to cook). I do miss this. The pub opposite used to do really nice food, I am going back about 10 years, but is very poor now. The cake shop could do with longer opening hours. The record shop 'Format' is good, sadly not open on Sundays. The walk to Frinton is nice when the weathers fine.

Lovely family and dog friendly sandy beach.

Lovely family and dog friendly sandy beach. Gently sloping into the sea. The sea seemed clean as the water was clear. There are plenty of options for takeaway food if you don't want to cook. We also went to the Cafe on Hall Lane on Saturday evening for delicious Spanish food.

Lovely beach but the town is very dilapidated.

Lovely beach but the town is very dilapidated. The fish and chips were the worst I’ve ever had! Frinton looked much nicer and I wished I’d stayed there but this place is dog friendly, so that was good.
