Words really fail me to explain how special this property was. The attention to every single detail was exquisite. I’m a professional organizer. My business is details. I’ve never seen anything like this. Everything - even the lights on the floor that automatically come on when you walk into the bathroom - was planned perfectly when this former convent was remodeled to make a sacred space for all its guests. There was even framed sheet music in the halls to, I assume, pay homage to the beautiful music that must’ve once graced the hallways. The staff was so warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was like something out of a Veranda magazine spread. The breakfast was delicious. At every turn in the hotel and the room itself, we were met with a delightful and unexpected experience. Who puts this much thought into a public space? The Cookie Jar does. You made our once-in-a-lifetime trip unforgettable.

The location is great, close to Alnwick castle, there are plenty free public parkings behind the hotel including no-disc parking which is must-have for guests of the town. The restaurant's interior design is amazing, it allows you to feel Titanic's passenger, without any catastrophical consequences :)

We really loved our stay at the Queens Head in Alnwick. The staff were wonderful and seemed really happy to have us there, we were very welcomed. The Rooms were recently refurbished and very spacious. Convenient on-site parking and a great Bar downstairs. We would definitely stay here again!

Warkworth is a really gorgeous little village that has a little of everything - the castle at the top, the church and river at the bottom and a few excellent pubs and local shops in between. It is so peaceful and relaxing, I can assure you that you will love it and will not want to go home!

A stunning village with incredible castle, glorious beach, relaxing river and lots of places to enjoy food and drinks. Well worth a visit and don't forget to see the Hermitage whilst you're there.

Nice Riverside walks around the village and castle.

Nice Riverside walks around the village and castle. Every establishment here and in nearby Amble is dog friendly. We were lucky with the weather but would have needed to drive somewhere if it rained heavily as apart from the castle it's an outdoorsy type of place

Beautiful small town with enchanting walks alongside the River Coquet. There is a medieval bridge over the river and the castle sits in a commanding position overlooking the town. A boat can be taken to the hermitage cut into rocks but it is only available for a few days each week.

Amble is always a great day out,also Alnwick, nice home cooked meals in both places but I found one especially nice in Alnwick, the castle at Warkworth is always nice for a visit,and at this time of year surrounded by daffodils.

Warkworth has retained the charm of Northumberland that makes it special, with quaint narrow side streets contrasting with the majesty of the main thoroughfare. With its long dune-backed beach and the stunning river walks, it offers the best of sea and countryside. The historic castle and the riverside hermitage give added interest. On the downside, if self-catering, there seem to be no serious food shops in Warkworth. The hotels offering lunches are expensive and not very vegetarian-friendly. One provided Quorn sausages for the Sunday roast lunch at nearly £19.00 😱.

Everything! Set in the heart of beautiful Warkworth, the hotel feels luxurious, bedrooms are very comfortable with everything you could need with extra little touches, the dining rooms and bar are relaxing with a lovely atmosphere, the food, oh my word, the food is simply delicious and reasonably priced and the staff! The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, helpful and friendly. We desperately needed a relaxing break and this hotel delivered 100% We will definitely be returning x

Amazing early 1900s property with stunning garden. Hosts make sure you feel at home and rooms are very elegant and comfortable. Best breakfast we had on our driving trip so far. Close to Warkworth village pubs and restaurants, lake walk and castle. Highly recommend for short or longer stay in Northumberland coast.
