Loved this hotel. From the minute we arrived early from oour early flight the staff were friendly and helpful storing our bags whilst we went exploring the area. You can walk into Ballina (about a mile I reckon) which we did a few times but it is quite easy to get a taxi. The food was absolutely delicious, breakfast and evening meal (had the same curry twice as it was so good). We got a taxi to the Bessies Bar on the coast which was about a 30 minute drive. The room was warm, cosy and comfy. The owner, Joe, even drove us to the airport on our way home, great stay will defo be back.

Lovely location right on the quay walking distance from the water on a quiet street. Everything exactly as it looks in the pictures. Note that this is one room with two double beds and a couch. Bathroom was lovely. Super clean. There are steps to the second floor and the family is beneath. Very helpful host. Beautiful property.

May be biased, as my mum was from Ballina, but It's a great little town with plenty of bars, plenty of shops, the Moy and close to Enniscrone and Knock Airport. A great place to stay to visit Mayo. There's a lot more to the county than Castlebar and Westport!

We attended the heritage day of the salmon festival which took over the town square. It was great. We viewed step dancing, set dancing, sean-nos dancing, many weavers & spinners, stone masonry, iron forging and, of course, the trad music, singing & playing. Had many choices for food from vendors on many streets. Loved the boxty!

Ballina is like most towns or cities now.

Ballina is like most towns or cities now. Outside influences are starting to take hold. The addition of some of the fast food shops and multiple barbers is a manifestation I find worrying. The old charm of the town is not what it was.

Ballina has a lot to offer.

Ballina has a lot to offer. Very friendly people with lots to do in the town and a great gateway to other delights in county Mayo. Some really great pubs and restaurants and a great Arts Centre. The Jackie Clarke Collection was must see venue to visit if you are interested in Irish history. Only downside was the nocturnal boy racers that kept us awake on one of the nights.
