Room was spacious and bed very comfy. Amenities are clean and well kept. There was my own TV in the room, heating. Entry and Bedrooms are upstairs, FYI for travellers who may not be good with stairs. I was wondering where the blowdryer was, as I couldnt find it in the bathroom ?

We went for a walk 8am in the morning and only 3 other people on the beach, it was a beautiful morning. Love this beach. Had a wonderful Italian meal at the Surfers Mistress, unusual name for an Italian restaurant but the food was so good and the staff very knowledgeable about the food and lovely to chat to.

We did some research before staying at Paraparaumu Beach and...

We did some research before staying at Paraparaumu Beach and chose it because of its beach and good transport links for road and rail. With its clean beach (there is a little tree debris but nowhere near a problem - it does provide some nice seating!). The sandy beach is accessed through clearly marked paths through the sand dunes. It was our experience that the sea conditions were calm allowing safe swimming. The sea doesn’t get deep very quickly and so is good for paddling and for children. There was a lovely playground for children behind the beach with some interesting pieces of equipment - a boat, a tractor and a lighthouse to name but a few. Paraparaumu Beach is in a relatively small area meaning that it is easy walk around in a short time where there are a mixture of shops and also a number of take away (eat in restaurants) to suit most tastes. Should larger scale supermarkets be required to stock up supplies these are about a 10 minute drive from the beach itself and most retailers are covered in a large Retail Park.

A sweet beach with a great playground, coastal walkway, quick and easy to shops, cafes, and restaurants with lots of accommodation options very close by in a very nice town. All in all a great spot for a vacation overnight or two!

All in all it was a very good experience staying and I would stay there again. The unit was nice and clean and the staff were very welcoming. The local Indian restaurant is the best Indian food I have ever had and the service was exceptional not to mention that the prices are very reasonable. We tried to get into the Thai but it was fully booked. We went to another restaurant down by the beach which was upstairs but it was so noisy that it was to hard to hear. We were down for a funeral and had a car so very easy to get around the area.

Unfortunately we were there for a family funeral.

Unfortunately we were there for a family funeral. So did not visit the beach. However we did enjoy Two Fat Chefs for breakfast the next morning. We were able to dine out the back as we had our small dog with us.

Great location, only a one minute walk to Paraparaumu Beach; the room was private, secluded, which suited us; the bathroom facilities were very clean and efficient; wonderful to have breakfast foods available, along with coffee/tea supplies. We appreciated the leafy-tree environment at the back of the room which cooled the temperature down.
